I had a relationship with an agent in this shop for about a year and a half. At first things were…read morefine - our venues, public places, frequently required special certifications and changes, and, like any other insurance broker, they were understanding about this and took care of alterations quickly and competently. As time went by, the agent we primarily dealt with seemed incredibly annoyed when the government agencies we worked with asked for changes of address, additional certifications, etc. - to the point of ignoring communication, sending us the same (incorrect) forms over and over, refusing to call or respond to emails, etc. Now, please understand; I and my government partners were not being capricious in presenting these changes. I was as unhappy as the agent was with the additional time burden, but these were alterations required by city, county, and state government agencies, law, and regulation - without which the charity events I produced could not occur. I doubt she expected her client to cease business simply because it annoyed her, or perhaps she was just unhappy with the charities we were raising money for. Perhaps she did. I'm not sure, and I won't speculate as to her motivation. The final straw came when the agent forwarded ("accidentally," but more likely purposively passive-aggressively) an entire email thread between herself and the insurer itself, in which she told the insurer how much the client (my company) irritated and annoyed her, how happy that she wasn't going to allow us to renew with her, etc.; this damaged our reputation and was certainly legally actionable, but I'm chalking it up to utter incompetence rather than malicious intent to damage my business and reputation with the insurer itself, who has told me they value our business and want to keep my company as a client. I already forwarded that email thread to the State Department of Insurance, as I couldn't believe that a professional insurance broker could possibly behave that way. I was an utterly astounding experience, and by far the worst customer service I have ever had the misfortune of being party to.

I'm not giving a 4 or 5 stars yet since I will need to wait and see if they do reach out to me closer to my renewal date as they said they would. Haley was very nice and for this call, good customer service. The biggest problem at this business appears being able to get to talk to a live agent. I would hope this isn't also indicative of service in time of emergency. Keeping my fingers crossed.

My situation is a little unique, and I had a lot of questions, but she was incredibly patient and took the time to explain everything clearly. She even looked further into my specific circumstances and called me back to discuss whether GBR's requirements would be a good fit for me. Anyone who has dealt with rental management companies knows the process can sometimes feel stressful or impersonal, but she was the complete opposite. She was genuinely kind, friendly, and helpful throughout every conversation. She made the entire experience pleasant, and I truly appreciated the way she treated me. As a business owner myself, I recognize the value of exceptional customer service, and I believe she is an amazing asset to GBR.

Any maintenance issues I had (which were minimal) were handled quickly, and the property itself was well maintained. Communication was always clear and straightforward. There was one situation where I had to be temporarily displaced for about 10 days due to plumbing issues related to the age of the unit--not because of anything GBR did wrong. During that time, they were very supportive and even helped communicate with my renter's insurance company when my claim was initially denied. That extra effort made a stressful situation much easier to deal with. Shoutout to Nick and Alyssa, who were awesome to work with. They were professional, transparent, and respectful throughout the entire process, including move-in. The front office staff was also really friendly and pleasant every time I interacted with them. Overall, I felt treated fairly and professionally the entire time, which isn't always guaranteed when renting. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend GBR Real Estate.
