He struggled in public schools. We met at times monthly with school staff regarding IEP Diectives and goals. The paper looked good but the learning environment could not achieve the goals. We were met in public school with multiple obstacles including unbelievably that public school teachers were not required any special training for learning disabilities. The pain we all went through included student and parent shaming amd other atrocities. Thankfully another parent recommended MARBURN ACADEMY. Right away they took our son to much better learning and social environment. We saw our son blossem and gain self confidence. The teachers are incredible. The teachers acted as if they didn't care, didn't really provide direction and leadership to the students or know how to handle the students. The teacher turnover is quite high. We were there only two years and we witnessed 8 teachers leave for better places. With the new superintendent coming in, she fired over 80% of the staff. As a parent, when we send emails or voicemails to talk to the teacher about our child, they would ignore our emails & calls to the point we had to go to the Principal, Mr. Fluhart who really didn't do anything. They started a new learning model which is project based but the teachers do not know how to implement it & the kids are confused. I feel my child took a step back with the bad teaching & leadership academically. I would not recommend spending your money to send your child to this school. I was very disappointed. My child socially enjoyed the school but academically, the teachers and the administration did not care and it is going to show on their test scores with the state. Review for the playground only!…read more Set in the middle of the NA school campus, this is a huge playground, really two huge ones. Loads of different things to do, for all ages. Parking is a bit far away, but there are two big shelters in the middle for parents, with big fans in the ceiling- very cool on a hot day. No shade on the playgrounds themselves, and the shelters are a bit far from the playgrounds, but still handy. Baby K had a blast. Lots of new equipment, many things to spark the imagination.
