With classes from pre-k - grade 6, it's the best possible start for any child's educational journey.

Both our kids did their elementary schooling there, from Pre-K and K to 5th grade. At one point the…read moreschool changed name from Wayland Academy, when the faculty took over and became co-administrators. To summarize: in 6 to 7 years, our kids never said they did not want to go to school. The teachers are superb, it is a very multi-cultural community, the class sizes are small, allowing students to work at their own pace. Either they are super bright in math or need a little more time on reading, there is plenty of resources there to make learning a great experience. They do plenty of field trips and activities, get a great foundation in being good citizens. My kids now in middle school are kind leaders who can build efficient teams and rally good people around. Not only they learnt their curriculum at an advance level, but they mostly learnt to read people and make informative decisions about whom they want to be friends with and whom they do not. If you ask me, it is the most valuable skill ever. Thumbs up for the Brighton School in Framingham!

The parent help shifts take a while to get used to, and it's admittedly a major investment of time from a busy work schedule. You take your kid to OSDC initially because your infant or toddler got in, but you later realize that you've been lucky enough to get chosen to join a highly educated community of parents and teachers who invest their time, money, and energies into children. It's cool, and we miss it.

What we didn't realize we'd also be gaining was a warm, vibrant community of families and teachers, knit closely by the co-op aspect of OSDC. While it does take some time/commitment to do a weekly to biweekly 2-hour parent help shift in the classroom, I found this priceless, as I really felt like a part of the classroom and got a terrific sense of what my daughter's daily experience was like. It was great to see the teachers in action, and I loved getting to know all of my daughter's little classmates. 5 years later, some of our best friends are parents from my daughter's original infant room class; her 3 best friends are also ones she made while at OSDC, even though we've since moved on to kindergarten! Can't say enough great things about this place, truly. We're just keeping our fingers crossed that we're lucky enough to have our next child also go there...

We could not be happier with our choice to enroll in Sunny Hill! My son is happy to go to school every day and adores his teachers (this has not always been the case and I am so relieved!). The teachers are incredibly dedicated, nurturing, and truly know each child as an individual. The curriculum is engaging and fosters both a love of learning and a strong sense of community. What really sets SSDS apart is the warm, inclusive, and supportive community. From holiday celebrations to the monthly family Shabbat singing and dancing, we feel so fortunate to be part of a place that not only prioritizes education but also instills a love for Jewish traditions and values. Our children come home excited to share what they've learned--whether it's a new Hebrew song, a STEM project, or a meaningful Torah lesson. If you're looking for a school that will nurture your child's academic, social, and spiritual growth, we wholeheartedly recommend SSDS. It has been the best decision for our family!

Schechter gave us a community in Boston -- a community that feels like an extended family -- and has given our kids an amazing education, a moral code, and a foundation for the future. Schechter Boston is a place where every student is known and feels that the belong. And parents feel the same way! As someone who grew up culturally Jewish (attending a Hebrew school where I learned very little), I am so grateful for all that my kids are learning, and jealous that I didn't have the same educational experience!

I felt comfortable the minute I walked into the program and saw the huge yard with lots of outdoor playspace geared for my energetic little guy. The learning space inside was airy, bright and impeccably clean. There were so many hands on activities that I have never seen before in the regular preschool classroom because I never really knew what a Montessori school was until I met Maria and she guided me through her extensive curriculum. Apparently he will choose the activities he is interested in and they will provide him with lessons. Since each child could be learning something different at any given moment they have up to three teachers with only 10 children. It seems there's so much opportunity for our child to grow and learn in this warm and nurturing environment. I didn't feel this comfortable when we walked into the large daycare facility by our house so that is why I was so happy to have found this Montessori. The Spanish is an added bonus! Now I cannot wait until our little guy turns 2 so we can enroll him in.

I did not feel my child was prioritized, and that our needs were addressed, much less met. Culminating point: our toddler had been at the center for 6 months, during the parent teacher conference, the teacher who was with her during her time there (part-time, 2-3 times a week) told me outright and sans-compassion: I don't know your kid. My feelings were hurt, and I worried about who the onus was on: my child, or the provider who was with her for those 192 (or so) hours? Had she tried? Did she care to do so? There are some elements of the child-care that were nice: low child ratio, environment that is concord, and the Director is in fact a sweetheart, the assistant in the toddler room as well, however with such things at play, how had one of the lead teachers failed to discover my child? If there were automatic capturing of what was happening during the day, (without my likely annoying prodding) I could tell you. That said, I'm sorry it simply wasn't the case. I'm still recovering from how much this experience hurt my feelings, and how I felt my daughters feelings were on some levels ignored as well. I was unnerved and nervous looking for a new provider thinking that perhaps this was how it was everywhere. Fortuantely I found out simply, that was not the case. Our daughter is thriving in an environment that recognizes her unique abillities and talents.
