Great burgers, service, and atmosphere. A local favorite. Daily specials are always interesting.

The Al Forno Pasta with complimentary breadsticks was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor, and the cheese pull alone deserves applause. The Fried Seafood Appetizer was crispy and satisfying without being greasy, and the side salad was fresh and well balanced, simple but done right. Portion sizes across the board were perfect, filling without being overwhelming. I also had the Italian Colada Cocktail, which was refreshing and nicely balanced, though I wouldn't mind the drinks being a little stronger. That said, it's a minor note for me since I really only drink socially. A standout moment was the free birthday tiramisu they bought out while singing Happy Birthday. It was light, airy, and decadent without being over indulgent, honestly the perfect way to end the meal. All in all, a really enjoyable birthday dinner with flavorful food, good vibes, and thoughtful touches. Next time I come back, I already have my eye on one of their giant pizzas. Chile, I might just get one for take out.

The service was pretty good. Very different from American service, but not in a bad way. You definitely need to flag down your waiter for anything. Looking forward to eating here again during my next trip to Germany!

This is a really interesting bar. If you happen to be in the area and are looking for a nice…read moreevening, this is the right place for you. My friend and I went there at around 11:30pm and a lot of the seats were taken, but we happened to get some seats in the back. I would say most people were in their late 20's and just there to have a nice evening with friends. This is definitely one of the best bars in Böblingen.

Best Bar in Böblingen. Best Bar in Germany!…read more Let me start by saying that Böblingen (my home town) probably has one of the worst night-life in the entire country, so if you happen to be in BB for whatever reason, you want to stick to the few places that are actually worth going. On top of this very short list, there is the "Tacuba". To this day (having lived in Hamburg and New York) I think this is my favourite bar. It starts with the exterior and interior. This entire bar appears like a giant piece of artwork of a Mexican pawn shop operator. It does not look very friendly from the outside (which they would actually state and explain on their front entrance). Literally every inch of the walls and pillars inside and outside the bar is covered with some sort of old-fashioned statue, picture, postcard, candleholder, you name it. Everytime I enter the Tacuba, I discover something new and more interesting. Unlike many "unique" bars who will just hang a lot of licence plates and soccer fan art, the Tacuba offers pretty much anything you could think of. My highlight is the men's bathroom where they actually put a puppet-graveyard behind the urinals. You walk around and just think "you've got to be kidding me!" People within the Tacuba are (for German standards that is) very open-minded, talkative and friendly. As they claim on their entrance "you enter as a stranger but you leave as a friend". Unlike many other bars in the city, the Tacuba actually enforces their minimum age of 18 years, which really gives the Tacuba the personal standard that makes it so enjoyable. Even though you will find all kinds of people in the bar, most of them are well-educated and easy-going. The menu (creatively designed, of course) offers you any kind of alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink you could possibly think of - a friend of mine even got milk and honey without further questions. On hot summer days, you could sit in the large patio on the backside of the house. Everytime, I return to BB, this place is a MUST go. I recommend it to absolutely everyone in the area who is ready for a little adventure.

This was my first real German meal here and I gotta say it wasn't easy simply because nobody spoke English to us. After looking confused at the menu, the waitress brought me an English menu. Phew!!! I started off with the pancake soup. This was a good salty broth with lots of green onions and egg like pancake strips. The Asian in me desperately wanted a bowl of rice to mix into the soup! Only 3 euros and well worth it on a cold day. Bierstadels home made pan: two large pieces of thick pork seared perfectly! A cream mushroom sauce bathed in it. A large side of homemade spatzle (noodles) accompanied it. All in all, it was a good hearty dish but there was a strong, horseradish like flavor that I didn't like. Maybe other locals like this flavor but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I must say the pork was cooked perfectly! The Special: a softball size pork that seemed to be cooked in beer. Cooked to perfection! Again, beer in my pork is not my cup of tea, but my husband enjoyed it immensely. My kids chicken wings were super TASTY but there were only three wings :(. My daughters schnitzel was a good, large size with a great crunch but the middle was a bit soggy. Both came with great fries, slice of watermelon and my kids' fave, a lollipop! There's no ordinary water here, only sparking water with a small slice of lemon. There's a Biergarten outside so of course, a huge array of beer. There's no way to finish the meal on my plate, so they happily boxed up my meal. For us, service was ok... But I think the language barrier was the main reason for it. For all the other patrons who spoke German, it seemed like everyone was an old friend. They were however cordial and friendly. All in all... It was a 3.5 star experience but I'm feeling generous today. Their large portions definitely pushes it to 4 star range.
