Tommy (RIP) was a really nice old guy, who ran a great business. His son Steve took over the…read morebusiness years ago, and is doing the same bang up job his Dad did. Tommy's is a truly small town grocery store, and butcher shop. You either love Tommy's or hate it. I love it because it brings back a lot of good memories for me from childhood. My Mom and Grandma shopped at Tommy's and my favorite part of the shopping trip was always that Tommy would give me a slice of ham, and a slice of cheese, and I always got a sack full of penny candy - yes PENNY! Fast forward many years and I ended up grocery shopping there, and taking my kids there. The penny candy was a thing of the past, and so was the free ham and cheese, but the store is still a really charming place with its wobbly wheel baskets old wood floors, and old thyme counter that says "no credit" back in the day they allowed people to run a tap - it was just on the honor system that too a thing of the past! I guess some things have to change over time, I'm just glad not every thing changes! I hope Tommy's stays around!

I admit that language barrier was part of what was so funny because I didnt know half of what he said, but I found it all to be humorous anyways! And no that wasnt due to my heavy drinking at the time! He knew what I wanted when I pulled in he has it laid out on the counter for me or in a sack! Now thats true customer service!
