It's an intriguing way to experience the local culture and its food. Unfortunately, the lady behind the counter didn't speak any English which is rare in such touristy areas in Europe. But she quickly fetched a coworker who was fluent and very helpful! The store has quite an extensive variety of cheeses! Trying a sample of Gruyére, which is available in three different levels of intensity, the middle piquancy won us over. We bought a piece just large enough for my wife and I to enjoy for a snack on the steps outside the store. We highly recommend this lovely place!

Small incline leads you to deliciousness. There is a small case of cheeses and meats to the left and the restaurant is to the right. Very traditional setup with wooden tables and benches. We loved it from the first minute! We ordered the macaroni with cheese (it was penne but outstandingly scrumptious). The cheeses and caramelized onions were the perfect blend Also enjoyed the croûte with an egg.......this is much like a croque without the meat......it was heaven! As we ere lucky enough to find this lace at the beginning of our stay in the Gruyère district, you better believe we'll be coming back for that fondue!

There are a lot of farm animals at the restaurant for the kids to play with and there is even a roller coaster adjacent to the restaurant that they can ride on. The scenery was just particularly beautiful and it was a beautiful day celebrating with friends. We had cheese fondue bears and lots of fun!

Maître Bernard Antony is an institution almost like the living national treasures in Japan. He IS…read morethe world's most renowned Fromager Affineur in his little shop in southern Alsace ca 20 minutes drive by car from Basel (CH), opened 1982. He buys young top quality cheese, about 150 artisanal produced kinds from raw milk, mainly from France. He stores them in his vast cellars until their perfect maturity. Only then he sells them in the shop or in a small restaurant, called Sundgauaer Kaes-Kaller. I once rented a bus and went with 25 people there to enjoy his special cheese menu "Cérémonie de Fromage", a six course meal, with a variety of cheese on each plate (totalling over 22 cheese varieties you will be able to taste), and served with the wines perfectly matching. Be warned, his menu consists almost only of cheese. You'll get bread and potatoes, but don't expect a traditional mix with other items like meat or salad. It's all about Cheese. He joins the guests and talks either about the products (both wine or cheese) or about one of his many adventures. He usually delivers cheese to the presidential inauguration in Matignon (Paris), the White House, many Five Star Chefs, Châteaux and numerous high profile families from politics or society. His fame goes around the globe, photos on the wall are there to prove it. I speak French with him but really love to hear him talk Alsässer Diitsch... Useless to say if you are not into cheese, there is nothing more there... but if you are, it is the place to find mature cheese of the highest quality. To me, living in Switzerland, the prices are modest, particularly when I consider the TOP quality of the products. Maître Anthony is a very friendly old chap, and luckily for us his son Jean François has decided to follow his father. We only can hope he becomes as professional as his father! For any gastro interested tourist this is a MUST!

Do yourself a favor and stay away from their fondue mix " fondue Vacherin ". Just awful. They…read morerecommend to add 0.6 dl of water, plus garlic on the pack. The result is dreadful, fondue au Vacherin is meant to be served at a lower temperature point of the regular moitié-moitié fondue. Attempt to serve it correctly will result in a chewy, separated fondue (liquid on one side and casei protein on the other). Very bad product, just bad.

This is one of my favourite places to explore and the best Fromagerie (in my opinion) in Nyon. Not only can you pick from a selection of fresh Swiss cheeses, but you can also grab some fresh local dried sausage, or other local products. The service is always friendly here and speaks some English. They have the best fondue mix, that they make on-site. However, it is highly recommended to eat it the day of purchase. When you request the fondue cheese, they will ask you for how many people, and if they are big eaters. They will then put together a bag for you, and be sure to ask them for their fondue instructions, as they have special printed instructions on how to best cook and serve it. I have had many other great stinky cheeses from here. But, for Fondue at home, this is my go to supplier.
