Came here in support of KCSHRM's Scholarship fundraiser. For a studio this size, there must have been at least 30 or more painters. Of course, it wouldn't be Corks & Strokes without bottle of wine. Nyoka was our artist teacher for the evening. She was patient and knowledgeable, which made the 2-hour session go by fast. Nyoka had many tips and tricks on how to recreate the right strokes for the piece. Our HR team had a great time bonding while exercising our creative freedom.

We took the girls for a fun paint night for our Team Building and we had so much fun. I have never done a paint night prior to this so this event was very unique. I truly loved that we all tried to paint Starry Night and that mine was the closest thing to Van Gogh's painting... haha *wink *wink. I felt super focused and super dedicated to making sure my creative eye saw what Van Gogh was trying to capture haha. Anyway, we registered online which was very easy. We received a confirmation and when we got there and unfortunately we got there late because we could not find the building for the life of me. We finally found it in the back alley and by the time we got there we were late and everyone was super ahead of us, but they quickly checked us off on the list and we didn't get to sit together because we got there late...... so my advise to you is to make sure you get there on time so you and your party can all sit together, or at least scoot down when you see an empty seat between you and another party as a courtesy. in any case, we weren't that far from each other so we still had a nice night. You are allowed to bring alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, foods or desserts while you paint and you can also purchase from them if you forgot to bring your goodies with you. After you're all done with your painting and you take pictures with your party then you can see all of the pictures posted on their website. I highly recommend this for a group event, team building or even birthday parties if you like painting. I think this idea is great! The staff is also great, they are super helpful and friendly. If you get lost, which most of my party did... you can always ask for help and they will help you fulfill your inner Van Gogh. :-)

What a awesome experience!!! Looking for something different to do in bakersfield? This is it!!! If you go to their website you can see all of the painting projects that they have scheduled for the month, you can pick out which day and which painting project you would like and buy your reservations online. Parking and entrance is located behind the building!! Suit M is located upstairs and to the left. Haha. We arrived early and was greeted by our instructor, Sage, she was very welcoming and friendly and helpful. She had everything set up and She explained the whole process to us. They even have paintings for sale ($3 each) We waited for the rest of the people to show up, 12 people total. Including my husband and I. Sage was very descriptive in explaining each step, she gave plenty of time before she moved on to the next step, she kept coming by and checking to make sure you were getting the hang of it or answering any questions you might have had. I felt very instructed and taken care of. LoL. The whole experience lasted a couple hours, but it didn't even seem that long because time literally just flew by. She had nice music playing in the background the entire time to add a relaxing element to the atmosphere, she even let you request songs that you want to hear while you are painting! Our paintings came out pretty cute, of course not as good as Sage's! Lol Or most of the people in the room for that matter! But hey, we're newbies! We brought our own alcohol, just a little wine in plastic bottles, one group that was next to us had the whole bar!! Hard alcohol, wine coolers, wine, I even saw whip cream!! Lol. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and they give you a 40% off coupon your first time for your next visit so yes we will be coming back!! Thanks guys!!!

I first went to this place for a work event and had such a great time that we decided to come back for my birthday with my fiancé. We had an amazing experience both times. The staff walk you through the painting process and are always there to guide you if you need help, which makes it fun and stress-free. Secondly.. . I went in to see a movie with the family and have a wholesome, family night. Instead, we saw the workers berated by their managers. Like, I wanted my KIDS to see Spiderman, not a perfect example of a hostile workplace. Everybody was super nice to us, new and old hires alike, except for the managers who would suddenly yell at them in front of us. No decorum!!!!!!!!!!!!

One near the beginning of the weekend to see all the works of chalk art in their early stages and one near the end to see the completed projects. They work all night long under field lights during the event. I like seeing the works in both the daylight and under the field lights. The Bakersfield Museum of Art has been hosting this event since 1998 and they continue to find ways to amplify the event. It's amazing to see The Marketplace lively.
