Highcliffe Library is, without doubt, the best library I have ever been a member of, which considering it is tiny, is pretty good going. The staff are friendly - nothing ever seems too much trouble for them - and kids are made to feel geniunely welcome, even when they're running up and down! The room at the back of the library is set aside for children's books and has been lovingly decorated with posters and pictures, with bean bags and cushions strewn on the floor to encourage even the most reluctant of young readers. For the real little ones, there's always a tub of crayons and colouring activities which change from week to week, and regular storytime sessions.

The library is located in the middle of town which isn't far from any bus stops and shops. The staff are helpful and friendly. A great stop to loan some books, dvd's, etc.

These are charged at around a pound a week so it is much cheaper than the video store and you have them for longer. When Poole library was refurbished a few years back installed was an IT suite with free internet access for everyone and although I obviously have my computer at home if I ever need I am a short bus ride from one. I have never had any problems with staff they have always been extremely helpful. The central Library is situated above the bus station and Dolphin centre so it has great access for public transport. Car parks are a little further away but still within a short walk and although it is set on two levels there are lifts fitted. This is by far the best library in the area.

If this library doesnt have the book you are after it can be ordered in from another if you request it. the childrens section has a play corner where kids are entertained on certain days and they have pictures to colour as well as story time for the children again check noticeboard for exact times.. On the top floor they have a little cafe where you can relax for a bite to eat and drink..

Milford library is amazing, just think back to village primary school daysok for those of you who…read moredidn't go to a village primary let me explain The library is in the village hall, on library days (this library is not always a library!) they unlock the cabinets and swing the cupboards around to reveal the book shelves hidden behind and no i am not joking! Rather dated, the selection of books is not fantastic, and i think the library is mainly used by older people not wanting to travel into Lymington where the big new library is. However the library staff are helpful and will always try to get books in if they aren't instantly available, so good if you are stuck in milford with no way out!!

Oakdale library is situated on the crossroads of Wimborne road, Dorchester road and Vicarage road in the center of Oakdale. It is therefore on one of the main roads into Poole. It has some parking but this is limited although nearby roads have little parking restrictions so you are just a short walk away. From what I have seen while there many of its regulars walk in so the car park is rarely used. All staff have been great and if the book you are looking for isn't there they will always try and get hold of it from the bigger libraries in the area such as Poole's main one. The library also offers the chance to rent movies on DVDs etc so there is something for everyone.

It has lots…read moreof large print books and audio books which my partner really appreciates as he has eye problems, alot of the smaller libraries don't have that many. The kids sections is ample and they tend to have reading and events quite often. They also have a few computers you can study at. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a ramp outside for disabled access and also disabled toilet for all to use. It also has a sweet cat that likes to visit, haha. When i first came here he/she was hanging around outside and when i visited the next time the staff was trying to get him out of the library. I still see him hanging about now, hehe. Rated 5/5 as it is the best smallish library in bournemouth. (Bournemouth's large library is one better for its huge choice)

But if you've got young kids it can be a bit of a nightmare! Sure, they've got a fantastic kids section which is nicely kitted out with little sofas and cushions, but there are just too many exits where they can escape! Also, the phrase Mum I need a wee! strikes absolute terror into my heart in this place because there are no toilets here, nor in the near vicinity so the only option you've got is to rush them outside and try to get near the bins so they can discretely relieve themselves not fun! On this basis, though I understand not everyone has these same issues with the place, I can only give it 4 stars.

That sort of municipal building from that time to my mind has now got some merit. Inside you will find a functional library that is kept very clean very tidy well stocked with a good number of tables for on site reading ect However the staff in the library are by far the best I have ever encountered, friendly, helpful and just very happy to help.They also have good activites for children. Our daughter attends Wiggle and Rhyme which is lead by a truly wonderful lady called Hillery.
