With over 8000 wines, 3000 spirits & 2500 beers with the best prices, selection and service, why would you ever want to shop anywhere else?! And the staff here are super friendly and very knowledgeable. They even offer wine classes (if you're into that kind of stuff). Bottlecraft is a bottle shop, bar, and cheese shop all in one small, perfectly curated space. They have a lovely outdoor seating area and some indoor seating as well. There are TVs inside, so we were able to catch some exciting March Madness moments while we hung out. When we paid, the host was super friendly and brought us a little ice bucket to keep our chilled wine cold, along with two glasses, and let us choose any table we wanted. They have a wide selection of beers on tap, plus tons of bottles and cans to go. I also appreciate the large section of canned mocktails and NA beers -- love seeing that. They carry wine, beer, vermouth, and more. In the back, tucked away, is Venissimo Cheese, which is amazing. You can order cheese plates, sandwiches, and other goodies to enjoy with your drinks. When I got home, I realized the bottle was a maple-flavored whiskey--not a straight rye like I had asked for. What confused me is that if they didn't have the rye, there were plenty of regular bourbons on the shelf that would have been a closer substitute. Instead I was sold a more expensive flavored whiskey that I didn't ask for. To be fair, I could have paid closer attention before leaving the store. But the whole interaction felt off, and it left me with the impression that the substitute was chosen to move a more expensive product rather than match what I asked for. That was my experience. Update: A commenter here says they spoke with the store and that my review is "incorrect," and then describes a different version of the interaction. The commenter was not present for the exchange I experienced. Their account is based on what someone told them afterward. My review reflects what I personally experienced during that visit. Second-hand explanations after the fact don't change what happened from the customer side of the counter.

A couple months ago, I came in, had forgotten my wallet, and my phone was dead. So I grabbed my charger, and asked if I could charge my phone so I could use ApplePay to purchase my usual pack of booze from 'em. Dude just said no. I could not use an outlet to charge my phone so I could pay them. I said why not? Answer was simply: no. I left, confused, but okay, whatever. Today, I went to grab the pack, the handle ripped off immediately, and the cans rolled around the floor. I kinda scooched em together, grabbed another pack, and went to get checked out and let 'em know what happened. One person was getting checked out ahead of me, and the moment that I made eye contact with the clerk (pretty sure he's the new owner, fat dude, grey hair) and lifted my pack, pointing at the handle and starting to say "Hey dude, I ripped ---" he yelled, "WHY YOU NOT CLEAN UP??" Taken aback, I froze for a second. Then said, "uhh... well, what would you have me do? The thing ripping was out of my control, and I came over to let you know that I ----" "NO. YOU NOT TELL. YOU NO RESPECT STORE." "....What? Dude, you know me, I come here all the time. Plus, it's not really my responsibility to clean up after an incident like this, that's yours if we're being hon----." He didn't like that at all. He demanded that I give him the new pack and Sprite I had for Wifey, and literally screamed at me to get out of the store. I took a couple steps away and asked if someone hurt him, if he last a pet, a child, what was wrong? Because, to warrant this sort of an outburst really only points to what Uncle Roger would call... Emoshunal Daaaamage. Oh well, on the bright side, within 2-3 blocks there are at least two other liquor stores with better prices. I hope you find your meds, dude. You just lost one of your most loyal customers.

Instead of a direct response, the employee behind the counter (wearing a black shirt) pointed vaguely toward the counter and said, "It's right there." There were multiple signs and items, and it wasn't clear what he was referring to. I asked again for clarification, and he repeated himself--this time with clear irritation. I said "I don't see it". With some distain he replied "chicken noodle soup". At that point, it was obvious the interaction wasn't going anywhere productive or that this individual did not value his customers. I made a comment about the attitude and left. Here's the reality: in today's economic environment, every customer matters. I came in with the intention of spending money and potentially becoming a repeat customer. Instead, I was met with dismissive and unfriendly service for no reason. What are we doing? I wasn't rude or confrontational - I simply asked a basic question. The employee could have have simply stated what the soup of the day was. Instead, his attitude was unnecessarily hostile and reflects poorly on the business. Interactions like that don't just lose a single sale, they cost long-term customers and referrals. If ownership is paying attention, fire this guy!Staff represent your brand, and this experience fell well below any reasonable standard of hospitality.
