We decided to stop in with the entire family, including our kids on our way home to Iowa from Minnesota. You will find many trinkets, gifts, souvenirs and toys at this popular road side attraction. As they say " there is something for everyone" The shop is filled from top to bottom with "stuff" Nothing I needed to buy, haha, but the kids definitely find it exciting. We have driven by it for many years so it was interesting to see what this place was all about. My boys left with a toy gun, a pirate parrot that sits on your shoulder and pirate treasures. You definitely won't forget about this shop. I'm sure the kids will ask to stop in next year.

I browsed around and saw a cool German Shepherd wooden key chain. I had in my hand to buy, but then saw a ridiculous price of $12.99. I did ask if they had aliens and she said playing cards. I didn't see them. Not overly friendly. Super expensive. Narrow aisles that you have to navigate around other people and kids without bumping into anything.

Fried treats and fun!…read more Popped in on our recent trip up to Alex for some snacks and a drink. We always stop here. The servers are friendly, the drinks are strong and the price is right. We had an appetizer sampler platter, tots and mini tacos. The server let us in a little news - the menu is in the process of being updated, so some apps are available. Which was fine because she let us sub other items on the platter. My favorite was some chipotle potato fried treat. It tasted like a popper without the jalapeno really overpowering the whole thing. Does my waistline need all the fried goodness? Absolutely not. Is it necessary to stop in on the way out of town. Absolutely. Check it out. Friendly people and good drinks are all I'm looking for in a Legion. You can find both here.

North Bound Antiques is one of the best antique stores between Elk River and Grand Rapids…read more I've been to North Bound Antiques many times. I think my wife and I have been to nearly EVERY antique store (close to & adjacent to Highway 169) between Elk River and Grand Rapids. Let me tell you, there are some horrible stinkers that call themselves antique stores. But North Bound is easily one of the best...if not THE best of them all. North Bound is technically a "mall" with many vendors. But they're way above average with some fantastic vendors. They could hold their own with any antique mall in Minneapolis and St. Paul. And the building is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. The best vendors seem to be in the front of the store. These are the ones that have the biggest, rarest, and most expensive items. Be prepared to fork out some dough if you want to buy something big and rare. They have brand-new hand-made crafts of different kinds peppered throughout the store too. Some of the larger lawn & garden type items are displayed outside. -Daddy Maxx Retro

I wasn't able to wear my wedding ring and band for over 10 years and put off getting it resized…read morebecause I was nervous. Nervous that the rings would get lost, get resized incorrectly or look horrible when I got them back. I brought them to JF Kruse and was told that it would be about 3 weeks and they did all repairs themselves in house. When it was time to pick them up I got teary eyed, I was so impressed. Not only did they size my rings to PERFECTION, they polished them so they looked brand new. They were gorgeous again. They even checked all of prongs and made sure the stones were still tight in place. You couldn't even tell that there was any kind of work done to them. I would trust JFKruse with any of my jewelry, they did an AMAZING job. Thanks for taking such good care of my wedding rings :)
