I went to many other tutoring schools and also lacked the motivation to study and in other tutoring schools, teachers usually gave up on trying to help me after a while when I refuse to do anything. I thought that eventually, the teachers at PYE would do the same. However, to my surprise, they kept trying to find new ways to motivate me and get me to do my work. I was surprised that they were still concerned about my future and education after I have been refusing to do any work there. The teachers there stayed with me after school and made sure I did my work, I hated that but when I look back to that, I am very grateful for that as it helped me raise my SAT score tremendously and I learned so much. They were willing to stay after school and use their personal time to make sure I understood the things that were being taught. I'm more grateful over the fact that they never gave up on me and cared more about my future than I did. Also, all the staff there are very nice.

I have found that with the support of this tutoring center, it has definitely helped motivate my children in putting in the work to succeed. Like with anything, tests are not a measure of talent or being gifted, it's about being prepared, and they definitely provide the help and support to our children to be prepared as possible for the classroom and standardized tests. They create a healthy, competitive atmosphere, to encourage our children to aim high, and give them the tools they need to achieve their goals. I have two older children who have attended Khan's. From homework help, state test prep, SHSAT prep and SAT prep. My eldest went to Bronx science and is now in St. John's in the PharmD program. My younger one is currently a junior in Stuyvesant. Khan's is definitely a major component to their academic success and I highly recommend.

Highly recommend Khan's Tutorial for any sort of academic support for children. Don't believe the…read moreancient reviews here talking nonsense. This company has especially made so many changes after the pandemic that they are better than ever! I would not hesitate, stop by and see for yourself.

Talking about breaks, during the summer Bobby said we would get a 15-20 minute break and that break ended up being an hour and half. During September and October, bobby would inform parents to send their kids to his house because they might fail the shsat and what he could do is help them regain their form. I asked him if I can come to his house during the day when we have breaks from school and he always kept denying it. I would hear him talk about people that went to his house giving good scores but If I asked to come he would deny. Not only was it very affordable for the amount of hours he went, he changed his attitude towards school work, and now asks me for packets like the ones he gets at Nina's. I am referring to a 1st grader, by the way. He only wanted to play and watch TV, but now he asks me for HW. I did see an improvement over the weeks of him tutoring here, and he improved in ELA and math skills. He was definitely ready to start school. He did a substantial amount of work in the two hours, and it was reviewed, and corrected. His handwriting also improved, because he enjoyed learning here and looked forward to going here every day. I would recommend for homework assistance and to give a booster to elementary age students. (I cannot review for older students)

(Ms. S for small kids and Mr. M for older ones.) However, Ms. Nina used to yell a lot. I mean a lot. So when my son got taught by her, he would cry and beg not to go. I nicely used to tell her how my son was sensitive and not to yell at him. The day after, she literally humiliated my son. She said things like "Why are you crying? Look at all these little kids. Do they cry? Why are you acting like we beat you?" After that, one month straight these two stupid kids were mocking and bullying my son. Did nothing about it. Overall, her tutors were ABSOLUTELY amazing. She just wasn't it. I get it though, there's like 200 kids cramped up in a room. Her stress levels probably are very high. (P.s. sometimes she curses in her Punjabi language. LOL )

If the Kumon program does not work for you or for your child, don't go here. No one is forcing you. I personally preferred a place like Huntington. But I will say I would never have a received a 5 in AP Calc in high school without my Kumon experience back in Hoffman Estates in the 90s and early 2000s.

I sent my children there today for a "supposedly" orientation and placement test at 1:00pm because I was sent an email about a 2 week free trial promo. Upon arrival, the lady at the front desk said this location does not offer the 2 week free trial. Instead of helping me or honoring my time wasted there, she just didn't do anything to help my family out. It was a Sunday wasted. They didn't assess my children and my family left empty handed. No trial was given. My son was disappointed he couldn't take a 30 min assessment today at Kumon due to the incompetency between communications within the organization. I would not recommend going to this place. I can only imagine how the teaching staff's behavior is when the front desk receptionist and Mrs. Wang's (owner) clearly does not care about their customers. They probably don't care about students either.

We have had experience at other centers and this is the only center to pay attention to both the kids and the parents. They take time out after every session to discuss with you what your child is doing and how they can improve. No other center does that, at other centers there is barely any interaction between the parents and the instructor/tutors. This place and the program is very enriching, my son started this school year far behind grade level on a level D reading level and just last week I received a message from his teacher saying she was soo impressed that now he is a level K. I have two children at this center and would not recommend any other center as much as this one. The instructor Ms. Rano is very approachable and works hard to make sure all the kids succeed, she pays attention to all the children as individuals. Of all the centers I have been to this one definitely surpassed my expectations and I would recommend this place to any person looking to help their child do better in school.
