I would say this place is more for those with experience since you are pressured to perform. I am sure all the 5 star reviewers have had lessons before coming here. I started coming here in early October and left 3 weeks later. When I came, we had to perform within 2 months. We were all expected to know 4 songs within 3 lessons (6 hours, since each lesson lasts 2 hours). I can't learn how to have long conversations in a different language in this small amount of time. I did not care for Todd's teaching methods. I could not bear to see how he was talking to another student who I will call S for privacy reasons. I felt pretty bad for S. Like, I do agree that his performance was average, but you need more time to learn than just 2 months! He was also making things seem like a serious problem, which can easily crush dreams. I felt like I was auditioning for AGT or something. The ear buds they give you did not look like they get cleaned at all (as another reviewer said), which disgusted me, so I decided to use their huge headphones instead. They have a variety of colors and designs, but they only have one size. They do not look like they are for kids. I saw this little 4-year-old girl wearing those headphones with the unicorn pattern, and the ear protection part was below her ears, which is dangerous. The one positive thing was my private lessons with Charlotte. I enjoyed them more than being with the group and Todd. I would speak highly of her with my parents. She was very understanding of my feelings. I'm sad I cannot come for lessons with her, but I am also now taking voice lessons at a different place.

The voice teacher and the piano teacher use two different phone numbers to text me, and I never realized that they are the same studio until I got there. The voice teacher even saw me and recognized me. I had nothing to hide that I was there before. Other studios that offer trials often offer one trial for each kind. It makes more sense. If this studio doesn't allow more than one trial for different kinds of music, they should mention it at the beginning but not to blame potential client. It's not the potential client's responsibility to adhere to their policy before signing any contract with them. See below text messages.

The dance floor was packed and we had an absolute ball. When it came time for our wedding, we didn't think twice. We are still receiving compliments about how incredible the music was almost five months later. Our guests didn't leave the dance floor and they even let one of our guests sing the last song on stage with them! Our wedding was in Santa Barbara and the band came up from Orange County to play and drove back that evening. Everything was perfect from our first song, to the music during dinner, to the dancing portion of the reception. They played the perfect mix of songs and really tailor their music to the vibe of the room. They don't need any direction and just go with the flow! We provided them with some "must play" songs; otherwise, they had complete discretion to play what they wanted. Our dance floor was packed from the first to the last song of the reception. We had an AMAZING time dancing the night away with our family and friends. The music catered to everyone, including our grandparents who were out on the dance floor with our best friends. We had the best time and could not recommend Society Music and Sound more!!

My fiancé and I were determined to get a band that would bring energy, play awesome music, and create the fun vibe we were looking for-- The Society Band far exceeded our very high expectations!! Brandi and her team came highly referred to us by our wedding coordinator, and she proved to be a perfect partner for us. Brandi worked closely with us to select the perfect songs for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and they killed it all night long! They went above and beyond to make we had a good flow for the night, and they incorporated our Jewish traditions perfectly with an awesome rendition of the Hora (but thanks to Brandi's suggestion, our first dance did not happen immediately after) :) Our first dance song, "You are the Best Thing" was played perfectly - with horns to top it off! And, Brandi worked with me to play an appropriate version of "Brown Eyed Girl" for my father daughter dance. They were so flexible and accommodating of some timeline changes the night of, and worked closely with our Wedding Coordinator so that the changes flowed seamlessly for our guests. Our dance floor was packed the entire evening! We are receiving so many compliments from friends and family on the music, during and after the wedding! My husband and I look forward to attending future weddings with The Society Band, as we are sure that our friends will book them after such a great experience at our wedding! Matt and I couldn't be happier with our decision to have The Society Band play at our wedding!!! We highly recommend this band - if I could give them 10 stars I would! They truly are incredible!
