Their work is top notch and they have the best prices in town. At our prior home when our A/C unit went out their quote to replace it was 1/4 that of other companies. We got a great unit that kept our home cool and our power bill went down considerably. If you want a company with honest employees you can trust, that won't charge you for things you don't need, and that guarantee their work, look no further. Call Payne Electric! I highly recommend them. Best electricians and HVAC folks in Tifton, GA!

So if you a faulty a/c problem, starting charges are approximately $130. plus hourly rates. If you needed electrical service also, the "service" fees jumps to approximately $260. Now you can get an estimate. Also, make sure you do not tell Payne that you have had any electrical work done to your house unless by certified personnel or Payne will not work at your house. How many older homes have had "UNcertified electrical" work? REALLY!!! You may also have little communication as some times they get "too busy" to let you know they have decided not to show per your agreement.

I bought my mobile home soon afterwards and called to have the system checked/serviced and Greg handled it again. The other techs that have done the service maintenance/inspections have been great also. This past November of 2015 was time for a new unit/system. I was told by friends to call around and get prices. But, if I got a cheaper quote from another company that would mean dealing with someone I knew nothing about. I stuck to the company I knew and with the techs I knew. The process went great and absolutely flawless from the girls in the office to Craig, the sales rep, and Greg and the rest of the installers. I just had a service check on my new unit and everything is good and as it should be thanks to Jimmy. Fast, reliable, dependable and professional service from a great 5-star company!

Called Ray & Son and receptionist was friendly and a tech was dispatched within an hour, which I appreciated. After approximately 15-20 minutes of working on the outside unit, he said he had me up and running (didn't even confirm with me a price and if I wanted to proceed). However, this is when things went south! He said the total would be over $900. Shocked, I inquired about the exact diagnosis and services rendered. He had not even checked the inside unit yet. Two capacitors needed changing...that's it. They were charging $515 and $226, respectively. This didn't sound correct. I looked up the exact same capacitors--roughly $30-$70 per capacitor. I called the service supervisor and to confirm that they were actually charging such high prices. Was able to get $200 knocked off the price, but still $695 total for diagnosis and to change out 2 capacitors (which literally involves shutting off the breaker, unscrewing a few screws, testing the capacitors, unhook a few wires, and plug in new capacitors) is absolutely taking advantage of/scamming people. Would of been over $900 had I not said something about it. I had to ask the tech multiple times for an actual invoice for records. His reply was "why are you being difficult". To top it all off, the tech made the comment of "Maybe this check won't bounce" as he was leaving. DO NOT USE Ray & Son AC, THEY ARE GOING TO WAAAAAY OVER CHARGE YOU!!
