Ok, I've been feeling rather guilty about this one star review for some time. And so, I ventured back in some quiet weekday afternoon on the way back from getting some dinner in.
Souless (and with a double l - tut tut) was pretty harsh. Yes, it's a little on the bleak side and the decor is not exactly imaginative. But, it's a bookies!
Hence, it shouldn't be quaint and character filled. It should be functional, which it is. It's clean and tidy (well, it has to be if there's hardy anything in it - right?) with comfortable carpets and areas to fill in bookie slips.
The counter is, as always, rather uncomfortably behind strong perplex and the staff behind it do their job.
Not great, but not bad. It does what it should be and not much more. Alright. read more
