(an actual physician later told us those drugs should NEVER be taken together) so yeah, not a good time from start to finish AND I took half the afternoon off work for this...

She told me that I would have to reschedule my appointment. Also that I had a balance of 69 cents. This was very disappointing to here. There was no compassion or care. This was my second visit and I paid my $10 copay before but my prescription came first today. Not to mention I've been experiencing homelessness since February 23rd 2024. But THE LORD helps me to keep up with my health and appointments. It would've helped to get a call or maybe told at my previous appointment that if for any reason I don't have my copay, that I would have to reschedule. There wasn't any room for understanding. I went through physical therapy afterwards at Ortho Carolina which is where he is affiliated with. I was NOT told there would be a possibility that I would not be able to return to my career making great money. I had been a hygienist for 32 years and this was my passion! I went back to work when released and I could NOT do my job due to lack of strength in my thumb. I went back to Dr Skahen afterwards and told him but nothing was offered to be able to do my job any longer. If I had known , I would not have had the surgery at that time. I was mislead to make me think that this surgery would take care of my issue when it did the opposite. Now I have a big ugly knot on the side of my thumb in addition to not being able to continue my career. I made 1/3 of what I use to make as a hygienist. Very disappointed! This was a life changer.

Every time I've gone, I've had the best experience. The doctor takes time to talk to me and explain what's going on. He allows me to decide my course of treatment, as opposed to pushing me in one direction or the other. If you need to get trigger point injections, they do them at the office. For more invasive treatments, you have to go to one of the Charlotte locations. Thankfully one of them is just off 485, about 10-15 minutes from the Concord office. I am so glad I was referred to this office. The doctors are excellent and the staff are so friendly. I highly recommend this practice to anyone that needs this type of support. Dr. Thakur is amazing. He manages my back and neck area. Dr. Messick manages my shoulder. I appreciate them tremendously. I promise you will not be disappointed. Be well!
