Debbie has a beautifu state of the art building/kennel that she breeds & raises her puppies in. Very nicely laid out, & very clean. This building is spotless!! She has a special room where the Mommy dogs give birth to their babies & remain in until the puppies go to their new homes. The floors are heated which keeps mommies & new babies warm. Debbie has very nice playgrounds outside for the Moms to go out & play & have a few breaks from their babies. Debbie treats all of her dogs & puppies like they are her own, & really likes & appreciates getting pictures & updates of the puppies after they go to their forever homes. My 2 Maltese females that I purchased from Debbie (1 is now 2.5 years old & the other is 7 months old) are very sweet girls, & very very smart. I am so in love with them & feel so blessed & lucky to have them in my life., & this is exactly how I feel about Debbie. She is an amazing woman & loves her dogs like no other person or breeder I've ever met. And the standard practice seems to be that getting on the list requires a deposit. So I checked out quite a few breeders within a couple hundred miles of Chicago, and concluded that The Paw Pad Doodles would meet our needs. They are clearly serious about their work. Their prices aren't the cheapest, but not the worst either, and, it takes a lot of labor, capital, and land to raise puppies. They seem organized and professional. When we made the deposit in February, they said we'd likely have a puppy by summer, or perhaps would have to wait until fall. When in April a litter became available for us, they sent pictures, videos, and some behavioral test results. A choosing visit was scheduled, at which point (due to our place on the waitlist) we had 3 pups to choose from. We got, I think, an honest assessment of each, and got to play for a while with each. Of course all puppies are cute, but it wasn't too difficult to decide on the one who was neither too shy nor too wild. Then, a couple weeks later we drove down again and picked her up. Of course with puppies part of the deal is that they will create some chaos and not behave as their people wish. And Deer Creek is, well, a long drive for a young puppy. But I thought The Paw Pad Doodles did a fine job for us.

Had her send me a couple pictures of the MALE throughout. I sent final payment of another $600 6 days before pick up per her request. A total of $1200. The morning of pick up at 12:30 a.m. She messages me to let me know that the GIRL is sick and I can't pick up today. I messaged and called her. Told her It was a male and she tried to tell me it was a female I paid for. I told her I had screen shots of our conversation stating it was a male and I would be down after work. She said ok. A couple hours later I get a message stating she doesn't have a boy, he died a couple weeks ago. Saying she "messed up" I have tried calling and messaging multiple times since the message to no answer. **UPDATE- She has told me unless the "money falls from the sky" she does not have it to pay back. I have no dog and now out $1200. I am a single mom with two kids and have saved a long time to get the dog my daughter wanted and have nothing. There are multiple problems with her story: 1-If you thought I had the girl, and the boy died, who did you call to let the person you thought was getting the boy know?? 2-Has the people who are actually getting the girl not contacted you for pick up?? 3-If the dogs were sick and having seizers a few weeks ago, why wasn't I told of this before I sent the final payment?? 4-On November 15th, I confirmed the pick up date and asked for a pic. On November 20th she sent me a pic of my dog. On November 27th I sent the final payment and on November 28th she messaged that she received it, NOT ONCE DID SHE TELL ME THE DOGS WERE ILL!!!!! Suddenly 7 days later my dog died A FEW WEEKS AGO when both of them went into seizers. And again I was never told, I had conversations with her, had her send pics, and nothing and she accepted my money with no comment. Until 12:30 a.m. the morning of pick-up to tell me I could not pick her up because she was hyperglycemic and having seizers for weeks and she had to get her better. And then argued with me until I said I had screenshots of our conversation saying it was a boy. 5. When I did talk on the phone the morning of pick up to let her know I had the boy and not the girl, after stating I had screenshots of our convos and I would be down at 5p.m. to pick up, SHE SAID OK! Then suddenly 2 HOURS later there is NO BOY, he dieda few weeks ago! Why did she say ok when I said I would be down at 5?? ALL THE WAY AROUND she was DISHONEST!!!!!! I know have to go through the process of filing a civil suit with the court to attempt to get my money back because she refuses to do so.

Her temperament is very calm and friendly, if you haven't heard of the spangold breed yet, I highly recommend. It's a combination of a springer spaniel and golden retrievers and they really are the best temperament dogs ever, and definitely give Dubois Springers a call for one :)
