There always seem to be a lot of shoppers so it's a busy environment probably owing to the fact it's located on Kalverstraat, a main shopping street. After browsing for a few minutes, I took a photo of a cool shoe that I planned to post on Facebook. An angry salesperson came over and told me that photos were not allowed. I said, OK, and deleted the photo. Then I asked why photos were not allowed. Angry Salesperson told me that no photos of merchandise are allowed in any Adidas stores and that it was because they didn't want people stealing their designs. I said, OK. She said, "I have that same phone as you; show me that you deleted the photo." I was like, OK, here. She then demanded to see my iPhone camera roll. Several thoughts about this experience: 1. After my interaction with Angry Salesperson, I will not be wearing Adidas products in the future. 2. I have nearly 1000 Facebook friends, many of whom like sneakers. So Adidas missed out on an opportunity to have someone post and praise their shoe. I think it's very likely that at least one of them would have gone out and bought sneakers with their name stitched into the sides (which was the shoe I had photographed). 3. Really, no photographs of stuff in Adidas Originals stores? Anywhere in the world? I could understand if I had, like, infiltrated their secret design lab in Bavaria and taken photos of sneaker prototypes scheduled for sale in 2015. But this was just a regular Adidas Originals store; I've been in several this year in the United States and in Germany. Anyway, so, #adidasFAIL. I'm going to go put on my Pumas now...

There looked to be two sales people helping in the downstairs area while they both had to run up and down the stairs to get shoes that people requested. With so many people, I would have though more people would be working. But the people who were there seemed helpful enough. You had to find someone and ask for your size, but I almost expect that in Amsterdam. But we waited for a long time to be able to talk to someone and then there was a line to even talk to him again to get the box of the shoes we wanted to buy. We did leave the store with a pair of shoes, but it was more out of necessity than because we liked the store. Of course we found a store with more variety and not owned by a major brand closer to home when walking back. But you live and learn, right?

Like I said, I went for shoes, so I didn't spend a lot of time looking at everything else. What I can tell you is that their variety of shoes made me very happy! I found two pairs I was interested in and nobody came up to me until I was obviously done searching. The woman I worked with was so helpful and helped me understand my size in relation to U.S. sizes and how much room there should be. I really needed these shoes (for walking around in winter), so I asked if I could wear them out. I needed insoles as well, so she went ahead and cut them out and put them in the shoe for me to wear out of the store! It was all very smooth and will definitely go back when I need something else! Oh, and it was all women working since it's a women's store, just so you know!

Kyle is surely one of the coolest & most informed knife guys I have ever met and the selection of knives is pretty damn cool too. I ended up getting 6 Boker & 1 Victorinox piece and use 2 of them as my new EDCs. Kyle & his crew were true to heart and gifted me a super-cool Boker Jacket (LOVE IT!!!!!!) that fits perfectly. The Shirt Shop, I always thought was named Shirtz or something because that's what's on the label. Came here years ago after noticing their unique line of dress shirts/party shirts/unique patterned shirts right in front of the window. The shirts are everything from fancy to cool to hip. I got one! Woohoo. I got a Shirtz. Depending on your choice each shirt can cost 100-300+ Euros. Sizing can be limited at times. Meaning Men's 42+ (when I visited, I recalled the sizing for smaller than Men's size 40 was very limited). The boutique store is small in itself, literally just an aisle downstairs. Dressing room is upstairs, the other aisle spaced section, with some more but limited options like shorts, t-shirts, bags, etc... I thought the staff to be quite helpful, answered my questions on refund policy (not that I used it, but nothing wrong with inquiring), stock in sizing and customizing. All in all not a bad experience just to look.
