I went there to get my teeth cleaned because I live close to this place. I told them I could bring my record from my old dental, and Itś okay for me to get the yearly x-rays done. They insisted to do all 23 x-rays for no good reason. They made me wait for more than 30 minutes because they schedule a lot of people at the same time and they rush to get to the next person. They brushed my teeth in less than 5 minutes then they flossed roughly and damaged my gums. Unfortunately, Woodburn modern dental was unlike any professional dental I have ever been to. The cleaning they did for me was not what I expected. It was quick brushing and flossing. Like something I could do at home myself. The doctor said that the assistant will remove the plaque and polish my teeth, but unfortunately the assistant did not spend any time on my teeth at all. After brushing and flossing effortly, she said ¨finished¨. They hadn't cleaned ANY of my stains so I told them what happened and they tried to sweet talk me saying ooh you're teeth are so clean there was nothing for us to do. Also they assume everyone who comes speaks spanish because they handed me paperwork to fill in SPANISH they quickly left the room. I was waiting for them to tell them I don't speak spanish after 20 minutes of waiting, they came back and I told them to give me the English form. The 'Dentist' clearly got a kick out of my tears, so much so she made a joke to the tech, "Look I haven't even touched her yet, and she is crying already!" She must have thought this was a really funny joke, as she immediately repeated it to someone else in the hallway, how funny it was CRYING before she even touched me. I only have / had a metal retainer on my bottom teeth and only need to pop in about once every two years. Sadly, after 8ish years, my metal retainer popped off. And now that I'm in Salem, I had to find someone new. I am SO glad I picked here. First, it is the nicest dentist / orthodontist building I have ever been in. Very class, well decorated, it's actually a peaceful place. Second, every single staff member is nice. Genuinely nice. Front desk, the dental assistants, the actual orthodontist, everyone. They were able to put my metal retainer back on quickly, relatively pain free, and easy enough. This time around, the dang retainer popped off again! Only three months after getting it replaced, I called to see if they would put it back on no charge. They happily agreed and scheduled me as early as next day! I went in today and asked if it would be possible to switch from the permanent metal retainer to the evening plastic retainer. They were more than happy to oblige, and still cover it for me! I was able to get in, change the plan, have my teeth checked, and new retainer made all in less than an hour. Amazing experience, amazing people. I will recommend this orthodontist to all my Salem peeps forever!

The office is a little road-shy, tucked-back off of LIberty a stone's throw from the Sunnyslope plaza in South Salem, so you'll have to use your special Mom/Dad vision or your GPS to ensure you don't miss it the first time, but when you enter their clean, modern office you'll be glad you zeroed-in and found the place. Oh yeah....And if your kid goes to Sumpter, Schirle, Liberty or Battle Creek...You should strongly consider Neighborhood Dentistry....It's just so darned close to those schools. It's like they knew they wanted to open a Pediatric Dentistry office in a place that was convenient for parents to swoop up the fruits of their loin from school. Seriously, you're 5 minutes away from tooth magic whether your little pizza munchers are at Sprague, Judson, Crossler, Abiqua....Any of 'em! Shoot....based on the modern equipment they had in the office I wouldn't be surprised if they installed some type of futuristic portal gizmo that'll whisk you in from anywhere in the world and make you appear in their spacious uber kid-friendly waiting room with a grande coconut milk latte in your hand. We also recently moved my son over to Dr Bruce and as the second kid (you parents know that second kid is generally the driven, hard to please one...my wife says I'm supposed to use those words in favor of the curse words I sometimes employ) and a kid who has some medical visit anxiety he always makes my wife & I feel a little wary of what might transpire. Nope....Not at Neighborhood Dentistry! That kid wore his brightened smile all over town all day and night after his first appointment like some kind of an in-mouth billboard. Anyhow, we really, really loved the Pediatric Dentist we had our kids at before Dr Bruce. When he retired, we were resigned to the fact that we'd likely end up trying a couple offices and experiencing a few clowns. But it seems our luck skipped over winning a family vacation to Disneyland and decided to award us with an absolutely INCREDIBLE dental office for our kids instead. Seriously, if you want to get your kids off on the right foot....er....molar....with their tooth health and habits, you won't find a better office in the Willamette Valley.
