I work as a registered nurse, and I write this as a patient who had dental work performed here…read more I regret ever coming to this office. All of this happened within a span of 6 months. The first time I came here as a new patient, I noticed my tooth was discolored. I mentioned this to the dental hygentist taking care of me, and he said he didn't see anything, and pulled another dental hygentist in the room to look at my tooth. He said to me "That discoloration is the color of your tooth", as the other dental hygienist laughed at me. Another time I went, I asked the woman at the check out desk which pain medication to take after I had my root canal done. She said to me condescendingly, "You won't have any pain because the nerve is gone". She's right that I may not have nerve pain anymore, but I would have inflammation to the surrounding tissues due to the nerve being extracted. There was no need for her attitude. I went there for a routine cleaning recently, and at the end, the dental hygienist said to me "Has it been a while since your last cleaning? Because it looks like it's been... you know..." and gives me a look, insinuating that I had a lot of plaque in my teeth, and that it has been a long time since I had my them cleaned. If you have ever worked in healthcare, you're taught to keep your judgments to yourself and to care for the patient. Another time I went into their office, the endodontist assessed my tooth and determined it would be appropriate to do a second root canal. They had to move me to another room for the procedure, and when I walked in, I saw a bib on the chair. I told one of the employees that a patient left their bib on the chair. The girl took the bib, left the room, and said "They said that was there for you", and I told her "No, I already have one". I had doubts the room was properly clean. After the 2nd part of my root canal was finished, and after the numbing medicine wore off, I have no idea what the dentist did to me, but I had a fat lip that lasted for days. I don't know how common this is, but I've never had this happen to me before. Last, I had a crown placed one week ago, and it fell out last night. I called this morning to come in and be seen, and they refused to see me because they had no cancellations. I wanted to be taken today because it may not be possible to come in for the remainder of the week, due to childcare, work, and various appointments. The woman on the phone said "Then I will tell Michele next week then". They are refusing to see me over a crown they put in one week ago because they have no cancellations. As a patient, all of this behavior is egregious and unacceptable. I should not have tolerated all that I did, and should have seen another dentist sooner. The only positive thing I will say, is that Dr. Singh, the endodontist, was exceptional. I felt little to no pain, he was personable, kind, and soothing. I would recommend anyone to go to him if you need a root canal done. I don't expect this office to take this review seriously, and I have no doubts the people in this office will make fun of this review. But I'm putting this out there to warn other patients of how unprofessional this office runs.

So, June 2019 I'm visiting my dad from San Diego, CA. I had been to a huckster dentist in SD about…read morea month before who told me he needed to do a "deep cleaning" because my gums were receding quite a bit. He told me out of pocket it would cost me about $2000! Something was fishy about that. He didn't do any type of cleaning the day of the visit. Just sent me home with an upsale of a deep cleaning. I'm visiting my dad and I tell him about the con-artist dentist in SD. Also, I had a terrible gum sore at the time. My dad urges me to go to his own dentist, Dr. Ni. I'm skeptical due to my previous encounter in SD, but decide to give it a shot. Well, I get in there and Dr. Ni sees exactly what the issue is with my sore gums. He tells me to get some Anbesol and apply it daily. It should go away on it's own. It does within about 1 week. Then, I explain to Dr. Ni the news about the dentist in SD trying to pry $2000 out of me for a "deep cleaning". He and the dental hygenist look at me and go "what? that's crazy!". So, Dr. Ni pulls out his tools and starts cleaning my teeth on the spot. During the cleaning he actually says "this is a deep cleaning by the way". I felt very comfortable and appreciative because I realized at that time, I was in good hands with a dentist who actually cared about the patient and not about lining his own pockets. The cleaning he did was a "deep cleaning", but really felt like a standard cleaning. He did an outstanding job either way. The cleaning was covered by my insurance (Aetna), so I didn't pay anything for it. I loved my visit with Dr. Ni and if I lived closer, I'd be in there at least once a year for my check ups and cleanings.
