When buying fruits, you need to weigh them first and get that piece of paper with the barcode.

This supermarket is about the third the size of a U.S. supermarket but they had an excellent chocolates section, fresh meat, terrific looking produce and they save me with ready-made salads. The cashiers and employees were extremely helpful and if you were not able to make it to the confectionery store this lace will do in a pinch. If you want to, perhaps bring salami, salad and a bottle of Pellegrino (very cheap) to your room "just in case" (as I am prone to do) this is the place.

Luckily, this supermarket was just a short walk from our Airbnb. The store is well-stocked with everything from fresh produce to ready-to-eat meals. We were pleasantly surprised to find a machine that makes fresh orange juice on the spot - my SO was so impressed, he grabbed one right away! I wandered over to the chocolate aisle and was absolutely overwhelmed (in the best way). They had good deals too. So many options! I had a tough time deciding what to bring back for friends. You can pay with either card or cash, and we found the employees friendly and speaks good English. The store was never crowded during any of our visits, which made shopping even more pleasant. Definitely a convenient and well-run spot if you're staying nearby! It's very near the train station. It's clean and organized.

Migros was a solid option to get souvenirs (like chocolates and things), and also lunches pastries drinks etc. They have a great selection of fresh produce, and they also have some serve yourself salad and pastry bars, ready to go salad and pasta boxes, fresh bread, lots of variety of sodas and kombucha, ice cream etc... Pasta boxes and pastries range from 3 CHF to 10 CHF - drinks around the same range, bread as well about 3-6 CHF - if you get an Airbnb or hotel room with a kitchenette you can make breakfasts to save on picking up something from Starbucks (which could set you back about 10-15 CHF for 2 items). I spotted gorgeous Waratah's (which are Australian natives), lots of orchids and succulents and because we were visiting in Nov, also a lot of beautiful Christmas fir + poinsettia. They selection of chocolates, esp the Toblerone variety with honey and almond nougat, was a standout and we stocked up big on presents for folks back in the US. They also set us back only 1.45 chf, so total bargain. We also got some good organic muesli, better than the ones at Avia. We also got a half-chicken for takeaway dinner at 7.50chf (good, but omg. So. Salty) Now, the restaurant. It had a 5-6 food stations (and a free loo!) we skipped over the Italian, Chinese and carvery and went for the hot vegetarian choices. Got a large to go box (14.95 chf) and filled it with awesome zucchini, green beans, rustic potatoes and spatzli (so good!). We also got x1 chocolate torte for 3.65 chf (the cream tasted so fresh, I felt like the cow had been milked in the morning) and a raspberry patisserie that my mum loved. I couldn't even get around to reading them all due to the immense options available & also having a cheese huus where you can go in and grab many cheese samples and purchase MORE cheese! Now, if you're looking to have a great lunch, go to the Coop restaurant for a pay-by-plate price and each day they have different menu options so you can have something unique everyday of the week if you wanted to! On the days where they offer fish n' chips... don't skip it! The fish nuggets have a dill batter & they come with fresh tartar sauce! Need I say more?
