There were goats and cows everywhere and they even came by for pets. Then, I see a Volkswagen dealership and Rugenbrau in the middle of the countryside. I walk in to see what it is and it happens to be a brewery which I thought sounded familiar because it was a new beer I tried from the CO-OP supermarket the night before. Inside, not only did they have their brewed beer, but they making everything from whiskey to gin and wine and champagne, they make it all. GET THE BEER TASTING and if you can take more, try the SPIRITS TASTING as well. It was an amazing tasting experience. There was 1 server and she could understand English if you talk slowly and clearly. The beers are all made from maize or corn because that is prevalent in the area, you won't find much wheat beer etc. Not only was the beer and spirits tasting pack with amazing flavor, but the price was to die for. I ended up buying a small bottle of their gin and whiskey because it tasted so great. THEY USE GLACIER WATER from the mountains to make all their products which is cool also. They also do brewery tours at 4PM and they open up their cafe/restaurant during the brewery tours. We came early because we didn't even know about this brewery haha. They gladly gave us personal tasting menus, but we were too early for the brewery tour. When I paid for everything, the lady gave me a free keychain and landyard!

We were there during a dead week, but the grocery was still open for four hours a day, and I was able to cook most our meals at our apartment. Prices were good considering how far up the mountain it is. Some things were a steal, while other items like meat were a bit spendy. The alcohol was decently priced. There's actually another smaller location across the street but this is the way bigger one. It's definitely the one that you want to visit to stock up on hot foods, fruits, veggies, snacks, and other essentials. This Coop is unique in that there's also a restaurant on the second floor that sells Swiss foods and other dishes. During my stay in Interlaken I came here pretty much every day to get coffee, sandwiches, chips, and anything else that intrigued me. It was cool to buy and try the different types of food that were unique to Switzerland. The only thing is that it opens a little "late" and closes relatively "early"; we woke up really early every morning to begin our day and didn't come home until later in the evening. Because of that we had to plan strategically to buy our food and drinks so we were stocked up for our adventures.
