We were so lucky to have Jerry Hays come to Snow Lake in Ashland Ms and swap out our propane tank and replace it with a Coombs propane tank. Jerry Hays was beyond exceptional in the set up of our tank and the inspection and cleaning out of our wall propane heaters. Amazing to find that such service still exists. Jerry was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable re all things propane and propane appliances. He answered all of our questions and then some. Both Beckys in the office were exceptional as well in helping us change our propane provider to Coombs. We are looking forward to many years of propane service from Coombs. Thanks so much. read more

My family was in need of a generator and we reached out to Coombs Gas in Blue Mountain, MS. My experience was nothing short of professional and welcoming. Nicole Potts was always kind in assisting me with my needs as she and Braxton were instrumental in guiding me through the process. I had lots of questions, but they remained professional throughout the process. Braxton was very easy to work with and very accommodating with prices, parts and installation questions. Randall Tate was professional and made us feel like we were his only customer. Mr. Tate took his time in explaining the size of generator that was best suited for our home and was neat and professional with the electrical installation. Drew Land was prompt and extremely professional during the installation of our tank and took special care in not destroying our yard or cutting any underground lines. I highly recommend Coombs Gas of Blue Mountain, MS for your propane and generator needs. read more

History

Established in 1969.

Coombs Gas is one of the few family-owned and operated, local propane companies in the Southeastern United States. Three generations of the Coombs family have provided propane to both residential and commercial customers in North Mississippi and Western Tennessee. Additionally, they sell and install a variety of propane and natural gas products such as fireplace inserts, gas logs, tankless water heaters, gas appliances, and generators. Next September will mark the 50th anniversary of the opening of Coombs Gas.

Meet the Business Owner: Braxton C.

At a young age, Braxton had a passion and an interest for what his grandparents, Butch and Von Coombs, were doing in Blue Mountain at Coombs Gas. "I can still remember being eight or nine years old, in the summer when I was off from school, waiting in anticipation for my granddad to come pick me up at 5:15 in the morning to take me down to Coombs Gas. I had a uniform and everything," said Braxton Coombs. Since those early years, Braxton has graduated from Mississippi State University with degrees in both business and economics and has married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Joslin. He has spent the majority of his career working as a management consultant for companies such as Accenture, SunTrust and Ernst & Young while living in the Washington, DC and Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan areas. During his time in consulting, Braxton's primary focus had been to improve and grow businesses in the financial services industry.
