Where did these fries come from? No one ordered fries. Didn't get my onion rings. The chicken quesadillas also feel and taste like they've been sitting in a warmer for an hour. Not fresh at all. I keep going back because when you do get a fresh quesadilla (super rare) it is incredibly delicious. They put freshly fried, very hot food in styrofoam trays, so you not only have to worry about microplastics in your food, but a chemical stew of polystyrene and hot fat. YUM! Other Cookouts use waxed paper, napkins or foil to prevent this. And the onion flavored ice tea, with onion bits at the bottom was a taste sensation. And by that I mean it tasted like @$$. And since it's drive through you really don't have the option of having it done over. I'll just avoid that specific location from now on and I suggest you do too. read more

I've been tolerant of this specific cookout's drive through service speed, being as tho the majority of America is short staffed. But todays experience was inexcusable. We sat in line for over 45 minutes total to get food, and both drive thrus were not moving. But when we get to the window, the guy at the register doesn't even open the window to take our money for the order. I sit there for 5 minutes waiting, and during that time, I see our food be brought up to the cashier, we wait another 10 minutes and the cashier still doesn't bother to take our payment. That was the last straw. We drove off in frustration without paying and without our food. I immediately called cookout corporate in Thomasville to complain. They offered me free cookout food vouchers to make up for it, but I declined them. And if I decline free vouchers, then you know they screwed up big time! I was at cookout tonight, and sat in line for 50 minutes. This is unacceptable. One Jeep in front of me drove over the curb to get out of line. You're absolutely stuck (unless you're in a jeep) once you're in line. One car actually blew their horn! I don't know if they're short on staff, and I'll feel bad for them if that's the case. But when we finally got to the window it took another 5 minutes of waiting. One young woman was working fiercely, but no one else. The hard worker was petite, wearing a jacket, and had her hair up under a hat. I felt sorry for her having to do most of the work. In fairness, the food is good. I went yesterday on my lunch break, the line was quick surprisingly but this was the worst food experience i've had before. I get a cookout cheeseburger tray with a cheese quesadilla and a walking taco as the side. I said plain 3 times, I have never seen so much mustard in my life it's like it was purposeful, not to mention the onions on both side of the patty. Food at this cookout can be good. Could be good like any of the other locations. Food good for a good price. HOWEVER, the young staff cannot get orders taken right, and/or filled properly. The place is quite busy, but the wise customer checks their food thoroughly before leaving. They seem to downplay their inaccuracies with "I didn't hear you". Unless you are an obdurate troglodyte, it would be contentious to not be jovial when eating at such a fine establishment. When eating here, it is rather rare to have even the smallest ort leftover from how extraordinarily delicious Cookouts food is. And the Milkshakes are to die for. Especially when you are deathly allergic to lactose. The absolute worst food I've ever had in years. After hearing all the hype and recommendations from other people, I decided to try this place out at the Conover location. I ordered the Regular BBQ sandwich with hush puppies and chili for the sides and a Cheerwine for my beverage. The Cheerwine was delicious and refreshing. Unfortunately that was the only thing great about this meal. The bbq sandwich had bits of slaw in it and the meat was not flavorful at all. The chili tasted burnt and old and the hush puppies; let's just say they should not be edible. The service in the drive thru and the Cheerwine was great but the food was a complete disappointment. My meal wasn't that expensive so I didn't get hurt in the wallet. I ended up getting food from another place after tossing this trash. I rarely leave restaurant reviews but this place, I would be embarrassed to be the founder or management of this place. If I were homeless, I'd rather go hungry then to experience this if you want to call it food, but luckily I don't live here and I definitely will not be back. read more

This Cook Out location isn't the best, but far from the worst! You get all the amazing aspects of Cook Out, but the speed of service here is slow. It doesn't have a seating area like some others in the surrounding region either, which can be aggravating. read more

Stopped here for lunch. I was very disappointed. I would have given them 1 star but the hotdog was good. My huge burger was burnt to a crisp. One patty was round the other shaped like a football. Both were extra crispy and dry. Pretty sure I'm not going back to this cookout. read more
