Dr. Cook has been my doctor for a long longtime now. He was recommended by my previous doctor, Dr. Sood after he was told he had to get rid of patients from Sutter since he was engrossed in nuclear medicine. One of the best recommendations ever especially since Cook was not part of the evil Sutter medical cartel. In the past, Dr. Sood and I as a patient had to go up against Sutter for going outside what the "Standard of Care" demanded, which has nothing to do with the patients health. Ok long preamble, but sets the stage. With Dr Cook you become a partner as to not only your medical care, but more importantly a partner in keeping you healthy, to where you don't need to see a doctor or go to the hospital, except for breaking a leg or other accidents. This knowledge that you, the individual, are in charge of your own health care, is non-existent inside the big medical institutions. Because of his care and acknowledging that I, the patient, have a say, is prolly one of the reasons I am as healthy as I am at my age. I know if I was subject to, or actually followed the advice, (God no) of Sutter, or Kaiser or any other major medical cartel it would be a different story. As an extra he personally calls to discuss results of blood test, MRI's, etc. So you might think this guy is right around the corner and easy for me to go to. Nope. Dr Mark Cook is an incredible Doctor. I stumbled upon him almost by mistake. The pediatrician my children were seeing had to move out of state indefinitely due to a family emergency and sent all of her patients to Dr Cook. I must admit I was hesitant at first but decided to give him a try. I was not at all disappointed. He's the kind of Doctor that knows what he's doing. He takes the time to hear what you are saying, asks questions, clarifies what he heard, and then shares his professional medical opinion. I really respect and appreciate that about him. We started with him seeing just my kids but I liked him so much that I switched to him myself too! He's family practice so he sees everyone. I have never had a wait if more than about 5 minutes in his waiting room either and his staff is super quick to finish up and get you going on your way out too. I love that because I live my life in a hurry and really do not have time for hours at the Doctor. I'm not sure what the swimming pool pic is all about though. I think somebody clicked the wrong pic and uploaded it by mistake. That would be nice though lol. One of his staff taught my son to check blood pressure after he asked a few questions about how it's done. Now that's service! I moved back here from Southern California and Dr Cook was the only doctor in Oakdale accepting patience. He is the worst doctor I have ever visited. I went to him because I had an ear infection. He looked in my ear and told me he couldn't see anything. I explained the problem had been bothering me for months. He told me to try allergy medicine and sent me on my way. I tried the over the counter allergy medicine he advised me to take. It didn't work. Later that week I went to a doctor in Modesto. Just awful. I went to him a few weeks ago because my family changed doctors back to him after a few years. My parents originally left him because she body shamed my Mother. I went to him a few days ago for a medication check up and I felt like he was being VERY unprofessional, when i talked to him he would not listen to me at all and when he asked a question he looked at my Dad instead of me for the answer. He also let my Father be in the room with me while we were discussing personal things when my Father should not have been there at all. Also, at the beginning of my visit he repeatedly asked me if I was okay with him not wearing a mask, when I said it was fine multiple times. He also told me masks do absolutely nothing and are pointless despite the research that has been done. He also believed that ants are causing 99% of global warming and humans only contribute 1% which I found very odd. He also started to discuss politics when it should not be brought up at a doctors apt. period. He kept on interrupting me when I was talking about the side effects of the medicine he was giving me. Instead, he recommended and got me taking lavender and B4's for my depression and mental disorders when that only helps for something that is not a disorder. I told him that I did not want that and I wanted a different medication but alas, he did not listen. As a female it also scares me that in 2021, he had a hearing for sexual exploitation of his 7 year old step daughter along with a few other accusations. The girls that answer phones are rude and very dismissing, when they answer or return calls. Dr Cook is so absolutely set on all of his patients symtoms being linked to GMO that he found off a netflix show. He dismisses anything being an actual medical matter. I had suffered from gall bladder attacks that he deemed as heartburn from GMO products (suprise). When I requested a xray because I had researched my symptoms on my own he stopped returning calls. I went to another Dr. Sure enough I had gallstones and a severe infection of the gallbladder. Had to have it removed immediatley. I would never return or recommend him. read more
