Several others in our group got rooms facing the lake and some had balconies! We had lunch out on the dock in the back with was a great place to enjoy a glass of wine, a salad and to just wile away the afternoon. Make a reservation or you will be disappointed, although they do give preference to people that are staying in the hotel which is how we got to have lunch out there. There are umbrellas that they will adjust for you if the sun is too intense. I also ate at their indoor restaurant and had fresh trout that was just delicious! We also had a local dessert which was like pieces of dough and applesauce, but whatever they call it- I hope you aren't cutting back on carbs cuz it was delicious! They have a great breakfast area on the ground floor under some beautiful arched ceilings. They also have these quaint patio areas nestled on the back of the hotel. They overlook the old city and provides a great place to bring your cafe. The hosts also provided flowers and champagne for my fiancée's birthday and that was very well received. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Amadeus in the future.

There is a bike trail you can take to get into the city or ride the roads, as many people there are biking, there are bike lanes. Our room was very spacious and I liked that the toilet was in a separate space than the shower and main sink . The breakfast buffet was your typical european with pastries, meats, cheese, breads, cereals, yogurt. Along with the buffet, you can order eggs, cooked as you choose. There is no air conditioning, though there was a fan in the room. WIth the cooler night temp, open window and the fan, it was sufficient. I don't know if that would be the case on a very hot day. One tip - we were in room 14, which is on the back of the building. If it is summer and you are going to have the windows open, if other guests are leaving very early and you aren't planning to get up early, the noise from them in the parking lot can carry up a bit. Unfortunately, their restaurant was closed the week we were there, so we didn't get to try it!

When we arrived there were local chocolates on the bed. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, speaking fluent English and helping bring bags in. A very good breakfast is included, they will even cook eggs for you. They have fruit, yogurt, breads, meat and cheese plate, and an automated expresso machine. There is an elevator in the hotel. You do have to navigate a couple stairs to get to the reception, they did help with the luggage. Some rooms have a few steps up or down from the elevator, ours did not. Taxis can take you directly to the hotel. If driving privately there is a public garage a short walk away.
