Save yourself the trouble, ladies. You are just a number at this doctor's office. I used Dr…read more Lawrence for about 6 years. She was great during the prenatal care of my daughter, but when it came time to have my baby, she wanted to induce before I even hit my due date. I was having no health problems that would warrant this, and I was only dilated to a 1 and not having any contractions when she decided to do this. Keep in mind, my due date was at the very end of June...close to the 4th of July. And she made the remark that I was her last June birth that she was waiting on. My husband overheard her say she had a family vacation planned for around the time of my daughter's due date, but I discovered this after the fact. I went in to be induced around 8:00AM, but about 4:00PM, I was at a 4 and holding steady. I had just had my epidural put in when Dr. Lawrence came in and said if I hadn't delivered in an hour, then she was doing a C-section. Or I could go ahead and have a C-section right then. There was no reason why she wanted to do one. My baby was fine, I was fine, neither one of us were experiencing life-threatening problems. She just waltzed in and gave me an ultimatum. I was a nervous wreck to begin with, so stressing for an hour as to whether I'd get from a 4 to a 10, I just assume do it now and not add that extra stress. This was our first baby, and we really trusted her. I guess we put our trust in the wrong doctor. Please learn from our mistake. Earlier that morning, one of her nurses or assistants comes in and says she has a blanket for my daughter. It was a beautiful white blanket with my daughter's name and birthday embroidered on it. The thing is, my daughter hadn't been born yet, so how could she have known what the birth date could've been. UNLESS she had planned for my daughter to be born on that day regardless of whether she came naturally or not. After I went back for my 6 week check-up after the baby, I asked her why she induced and why she did a C-section. She could give me no answer. She'd say "Hmmm, let me check." Flip through my file, and then say "Gee, I don't know why." I'll tell you why...because she had a holiday vacation coming up she wanted to get to and she didn't want to be at the hospital all night waiting on me, so she did a C-section so she could get home by dinnertime. I hardly saw her at all after I delivered. Pitiful. But the straw that broke the camel's back is when I experienced a miscarriage. When I found out I was pregnant, she didn't want to see me until I was 8 weeks along, but at about the 6th-7th week, I was bleeding real bad. I knew I had lost the baby. I went in to see her that afternoon. Took a pregnancy test at her office, then sat in the exam room crying. She walked in and said "Why are you crying?". No sympathy at all, just comes in like an irritated parent. I thought maybe there was a little bit of hope that I didn't lose the baby, but she said "No. You're not pregnant. So what made you think you were pregnant to begin with?" What??? Gee, I don't know. Maybe all the symptoms that come with pregnancy and maybe the 2-3 positive pregnancy tests I had taken. First she tried to tell me the baby was nothing more than a clump of tissue, then she took a different spin and said to celebrate each birthday this child would've had. I mean, she was all over the spectrum. As I left, she said "When will I be seeing you again?". I turned around in shock, because I had JUST come in not a few weeks beforehand for a check-up. That night, I cried myself to sleep with her words ringing in my ears..."Why are you crying?". Do not use this doctor. Stay clear of her. All she wants is her grubby hands in your pockets to take your money. She has no compassion whatsoever and no respect for those wanting to follow their own birth plan.

I love Brandie Martin! She delivered both of my children and is such a wonderful person and doctor…read more Highly recommend!
