Leadership reflects congregation. At convergence, there was a welcoming team. They did the classic greeting team duty, but one of the ladies bought me coffee and simply wanted to get to know me. Then I walked into the sanctuary where you could feel the presence of the Lord. Worship was an hour long, and there was so much passion on the stage it didn't feel like a performance. Instead, we were corporately engaging in worshipping Jesus. There was time of greeting, but no 5 second awkwardly say hi to your neighbor. It was an extended amount of time where you really got to meet new people and connect with old friends. Then the message came. Wow, there is power, conviction, and authenticity that comes from the stage. Afterwards, some of my neighbors invited me to eat lunch with them. At the end of the day if you want a church where you can check off the box, this isn't the place for you. But if you want a church where you can experience God in deeper and new ways, I welcome you into my new family.

My family and I been attending (CHOP) convergence house of prayer for about a year. Since attending this church, we have seen the presence of God just touch and move people in ways I have never seen before. The facility is huge but you'll never feel lost here. It's a very modern cool decor with extremely friend staff. I'm writing this review as I would like to encourage you to attend a service to see for yourself, good stuff is happening HERE. Here are several reasons why you should attend: -Pastor: Pastor Greg and Wendy along with all the pastoral staff believes in equipping people to release the kingdom of God in society. Good stuff is happening HERE. -Worship: It's amazing. If you are a person who loves prayer and worship incorporated you will love it. Good stuff is happening HERE. -Teaching: Deep biblical teaching, the pastor really brings out the "awe, I get it" moment. Good stuff is happening HERE. -Culture: CHOP culture is more about the body of Christ as opposed to making making it about CHOP. Good stuff is happening HERE. Prophetic Ministry: This house offers prophetic ministry, people are being blessed all the time. Good stuff is happening HERE. Healing Rooms: There is a dictated days of the week out of the month for healing. Good stuff is happening HERE. Coffee Bar: WOW!! They roast their own coffee beans. The taste of the coffee is at the same level of Verve Coffee shop in Santa Cruz. Even if you're just here for the coffee, you will be blessed .Good stuff is happening HERE. These are just a few reasons why you should come check out CHOP. Enjoy the freedom, as good stuff is happening HERE.

In our busy, hyper-connected culture, we need a place to rest, recuperate, and commune with ourselves, each other, and most importantly, our Creator. I'm glad that Convergence House of Prayer is a refuge for the times when I am seeking to get to that secret place where I can do business with God, when I feel distant from Him and need to hear His word being read and sung back to me, affirming of my identity in Him as His beloved child, unashamed and whole. No other voice in the world speaks such words of affirmation and love. I'm also glad Convergence House of Prayer is a temple where the fire and zeal of God burns, when I feel ready to contend for revival in the Bay Area and in the world. It's a place of fire where the Holy Spirit dwells and fuels missions efforts in intercessionary prayer and in calling people to share the Gospel message in areas where people still have not yet experienced the true grace and unconditional love of God. No other mission in the world is worthy of my devotion and labor. Whether you're in a high point in life or a low point, come and abide in the Holy Spirit at Convergence. You won't be the same afterwards.

    Our charge, our goal.

I've been attending this church since 2010. I left the mega church for something smaller and got more than I ever could have imagined or hoped for. I've attended school of supernatural ministry (CSSM) and have grown exponentially. I even got my prayer language, which I didn't think I would ever get. There's lots of impartation, fire tunnels, healings and so much more. It's official: I'm now a presence junkie. I can't get enough of Jesus' presence. I wasn't sure about coming to the prayer room between Sundays but when the pastor's wife made the suggestion, I tried it. Now I host the prayer room, regularly attend EGS services and Sundays are absolutely awesome. I shouldn't have been so surprised since the directors of the prayer room, Nina and Ryan Landis, have 10 years experience building and sustaining 24/7 worship at IHOP-KC. Jaye Thomas dropped in on Sunday worship just because he was in town. I loved it. Did I mention the conferences we host? Pursuit, Declaring His Worth, Convergence, Theology of 24/7 prayer seminar. We've had Earl Johnson, Bill Johnson, Kris Valloton, Allen Hood, Corey Russell, Eric Johnson, Laura Hackett, Cassie Campbell, and Stephen Venable visit for various conferences. For our upcoming second-annual Convergence conference Allen Hood returns and brings his colleague, Johnny Enlow, author of The Seven Mountain Prophecy. When we move into our new building at the end of 2013, we will have Bill Johnson and possibly even Mike Bickle. I'm personally praying for Matt Gilman to join us also. If you want to grow closer to Jesus, move in your spiritual gifts and influence others for the cause of Christ, then you have found the right place. It's small, intimate and growing. If you're a musician, singer or do sound board guy, we need you so we can finally ramp-up and do 24/7 prayer, praise and worship to the one who sits on Heaven's mercy seat because He's worthy of it all.

If you like free flowing, spirit-led worship, honest and Biblical truth based sermon dotted with humor and kind and patient people who pray for your every need after each service, this church is for you. They just moved to their new building which is spacious and filled with warmth. They have a barista/coffee server station before and after service and also a packed weekday schedule of worship and spoken word sessions so for those looking for a place to chill and hear from God during the week, it's a good place to find rest. Also come visit if you're a fan of Bethel church in Redding, CA, lover of Bethel Music and Jesus Culture, IHOP (international house of prayer), and Iris Ministries (Heidi and Rolland Baker). They are going to have their grand opening in April so check their website for info. They have a heart to serve the Tri-City community as they partner with Compassion Networks to serve in practical areas.

I found this church through a web engine search, and when we started going we fell in love with it…read more Why? 1) The preaching! Faithful to the Word; unapologetic truth that points us to the compassion and mercy we have received. All sermons (from old and New Testament) show how Jesus' sufficient job on the cross is the a-z of the Bible (and really the core of life ). 2) The people! A group of people that know they are broken, don't pretend, and are there for you when you fall and are in the dumps. They eat with you, pray with you, cry with you, mourn with you, are goofy with you, admonish you, encourage you, and plainly walk through life with you. We left the church when we had to move to another country, but I wouldn't have left otherwise! Miss my New Life family!!! But the Lord is always faithful and I have a new church family in Canada now If you're on the fence about checking it out, don't be! Just go! Try it out a few times and then decide. You don't need to be a Christian. If you're a Muslim, a atheist, an agnostic, a Hindu, whatever you wanna call it, but you wanna find out more about Jesus or Christianity, you're welcome there!

Reposting my old review from 2012 since we've moved and had to create a new Yelp page. Since then…read morethe church has been growing rapidly under God's provision, and we are now at a new location with more space! We now also have an assistant pastor, Rich, who's been such a blessing to New Life. Since Rich's arrival, we've witnessed a huge growth in young adults ministry. - Though I'm sure people will only write good stuff about their own church, I want to first let you all know that I am going to be as unbiased as possible in the following review. I found New Life back in April through a pastor I'd met in Palo Alto. I had just moved back home from New York, and while looking for a church to settle in, the pastor suggested this church that is fairly new in my neighborhood. Since it was a pastor I trusted, I decided to give it a try. It couldn't hurt - it was only a few minutes from my house! Though I was at a very confusing stage in my life when I first started attending this church, I was able to settle in without feeling uncomfortable, thanks to the friendly, non-intimidating environment that is not too in-your-face. Seven months later, I am still attending the church. I have experienced a slow but visible growth in my faith, through the loving and supportive community, as well as Pastor Dave's sermons which are always on-point. The vibe of the community is very fun, friendly, yet intimate. Pastor Dave's sermons are intellectual and witty, but never straying away from the very core of the gospel. Though it is a fairly small church, there is an order that cannot be ignored. I believe this is a reflection of the gospel-centeredness of the church. This allows the church members to be accountable and supportive towards one another. What I love the most about NLMC is how welcoming and accepting everyone is towards newcomers who are still questioning their faith or have never even been to church. I have been to churches where there's the "inner circle" of people who grew up in that church their whole lives, but this church does not question or judge your faith; instead they provide you with some insights and guidance to understanding Christ. The congregation is mostly young married couples or young parents, but there still is a younger single crowd. The church vibe is still very young, and the church is very responsive to the younger crowd, so it'd be nice to see it grow more. Anyways, I suggest everyone to check out the church just for two weeks. I know that everyone feels differently about different churches, but I am pretty confident this one will make you feel safe as a place to grow in your faith.

Well, for starters, Sundays begin at 11am and our Church is a non-denominational self-functioning traditional Christian Church, or part of the E.F.C.A. We believe in God, Jesus as His Son and the Holy Spirit as the Trinity and the death and resurrection of Jesus on the Cross for our sins and eternal Heaven and life with God for the saved. There are light refreshments available on campus at Church on Sunday mornings (lemonade, water, coffee, tea, donuts) and three main buildings A, B, and C; B having a recently renovated children's unit. The English ministry is in building A, and it usually goes a little something like this: 1. Praise and Worship, 2. Sermon by the Pastor, 3. Prayer and Announcements, 4. Excusal and buildings C and B also include Mandarin, Filipino, Deaf, Telugu, and youth services as well as Special Needs Bridges Crew. I personally love going to a Church where all are welcome, no matter your walk with God, whether doubting, fledgling, there is no clear-cut Christianity in my book! You either are for God or you're against Him. Because God loves me so much He sent His Son Jesus Christ, born of Mary who was a virgin and the Holy Ghost's power and He really is my Savior, Messiah, Savior, Light of my Life, Light of my World, and God gives me the strength to carry on in a burdensome world. We can ask for anything in Jesus' Name and if it aligns with God's will for us, He can make it happen! God loves you!! There is nothing you have done, said, thought, nothing at all that can't be erased at the Cross at Jesus Christ's blood on the Cross, He defeated death and rose again 3 days later so we can spend Eternity with Him in Heaven! That, my friends, is the good news of Christ Jesus. That is our Gospel and our Good News. Thank you, community, family, for fellowship, for loving and praying to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Jesus, let's keep us all accountable and dig into God's Word, the Holy Bible not because we are forced to but because we want to. Thanks for the grace, mercy, compassion, love, faith, thanks for everything! See you Sunday!

They were welcoming in the beginning as every church is, but it slowly became radical. It made you feel that it was their role to distinguish "true believers" by pushing membership (non-biblical). I was looking for a church that had right theology and doctrine, but after this experience it made me realize that strict doctrine and adherence to rules can mask flaws in their fruit (ex: Steven Lawson). There is a pattern of manipulating scripture verses to portray certain agendas. I challenge anyone reading this to discern their teachings, if they are Biblical. The church is modeled after John MacArthur's (RIP), no wonder: https://www.reddit.com/r/Christianity/comments/1ktnxo5/a_warning_to_christians_who_follow_john/ Matthew 7:16: Are these teachings/behaviors Biblical? Whether it's the sermons or the Bible study groups, NLCC teaches you the entirety of the Bible accurately and faithfully. It is such a joy to see the pastors put so much time and care into preparing God's Word for us each week. And even more encouraging to see them living out the Word so faithfully. I have so many great things to say about NLCC, but I'll try to narrow it down to a list of things that I have personally been blessed by: * Discipleship - It is strongly encouraged at this church. I have been discipled for over 2 years now, and it has been such an edifying experience. * Community Groups - Every Friday we are able to spend time with others over dinner and a Bible study lesson. This has been an amazing way for us to get to know other people in the church much more intimately. * Men's Ministry - Every month I have the opportunity to spend time with the other men in the church. We usually go over topics/struggles that pertain specifically to men and discuss how we can strive to grow in these areas. My wife would say the same for the Women's Ministry as well! * Serving - As a smaller church, there are tons of opportunities to serve and get plugged in. I have had the privilege of serving in the AV (Audio Visual) Ministry and the College Ministry extensively. On top of all these ways to get plugged in, I'm also always so grateful for how much this community cares for and loves one another. It has overall been a tremendous blessing to be a part of this church!
