The staff were polite and professional. This review is not about them. It's about the system…read morethey're required to run. I've been using chiropractors for over 20 years. I booked this office after being told the first visit would take about 90 minutes, which is normal. What was not disclosed is that treatment would not begin until the third visit, after multiple long appointments involving paperwork, imaging, scans, tours, classes, and videos. Visit one was intake, X-rays, a nerve scan, and a facility tour. No adjustment. Visit two was explained as another ~90 minutes for a mandatory "first-timers" class, review of results, and philosophical education. Still no adjustment. Visit three would finally be when treatment begins, after investing well over four hours of time. That level of time commitment and delayed care should be made clear before someone books. This feels less like healthcare onboarding and more like a sales and conditioning funnel. If you're an experienced chiropractic patient looking for straightforward care, this model is likely not for you. One additional concern: after the visit, I received a review request email that asked whether I was "happy." Selecting "yes" routes you to Google. Selecting "no" routes you to a separate site where the feedback is not public. That is intentional reputation filtering, not neutral feedback collection, and it reinforced my decision to walk away. Transparency matters. Respect for a patient's time matters. This office failed on both.

Update 1/28/2019: I have been suffering with dizziness for 4 days. Assuming it was just an electrolyte issue, I treated myself with lots of sugar-free sports drinks and water, but still was having short bouts with dizziness. I came in to City Chiropractic and saw Dt. Scholtisek. He examined me and found that my skull was off center as well as C1 and C5 vertebrae. I kid you not, after he adjusted my head and neck, I felt a rush of blood to my head and even felt flush. He had me lie still for a minute or two and then finished my care. Thank God for this gifted healer! I have not felt dizzy since. Whew!

I contacted Chiropractic Physicians of the Carolinas (Kings Mountain Office - Dr. Magar) for some…read moreongoing back issues that I have been dealing with for years. When I called, I spoke to a very nice woman by the name of Christy who answered all of my questions thoroughly and professionally. I'm familiar with chiropractic, so really my questions were about price, insurance and what to expect at their practice as a new patient. I decided to schedule my first appointment. When I arrived, I was greeted by Christy. She was just as pleasant and professional as she was on the phone. I was required to fill out some new patient paperwork (to be expected) and before I knew it, I was ready to get examined. Christy directed me to a room and took some vitals and medical history. After obtaining my symptoms and history and after only a brief wait, I met with Dr. Magar to discuss my symptoms and allow him to explain what his approach would be. After the initial exam, Dr. Magar performed some x-rays to determine if there was something wrong with my spine. After the x-rays I was given some muscle therapy to try to reduce some of the pain that I was experiencing that day. The process was pretty quick and easy, so I scheduled my follow up appointment. At my next visit, I saw Dr. Magar who had reviewed my x-rays and come up with a plan of action to help me become pain free. Dr. Magar is an extremely talented and professional chiropractor who can make you feel at home right in his own office. He is unlike any chiropractor that I've been to in the past. Dr. Magar takes a holistic approach to your well being and is genuine in his commitment to helping people feel better. I've been seeing Dr. Magar for about 2 months now, twice a week, and most of my issues have been getting better each time that I go. It is not always a drastic change, but you can't expect a fixed spine in one day. Overall, the office is relaxing, the staff is outstanding (and kid friendly), and Dr. Magar has helped in more ways than one. The friendly atmosphere and professionalism reflects what a great office that they run in Kings Mountain, NC. If you are currently seeking a great chiropractor, Go see either Dr. Magar in Kings Mountain, NC, or his wife Dr. Ellison in the Shelby, NC office.
