I've been hearing about Conti's a long time and I've already seen many a friend, workmate, and orgmate carrying a box of Conti's goodies, but it took me some time to really try it. Maybe because I had regular places for desserts or a quick pastry in ATC. And the Conti's branch here was nice, though not as cozy and inviting for me as Cafe Mary Grace, for example.
But one time, I wanted to try something new and I found myself in Conti's with a friend. We just had dinner and I was craving for cake.
The waitress at Conti's immediately recommended Mango Bravo, which was apparently their bestseller. It's this white tower topped with mango and with chocolate sauce running down the sides. The cake is light and sweet. Another time a friend bought me chocolate mousse, and it was nice and sweet, but I found the taste too rich (a bit nakaka-umay) after a few bites. The Mango Bravo was more addicting.
But Conti's is not just known for sweets but also full meals, and many I know swear by their lengua. I'm happy right now with just the sweets, though. read more
