He is a beyond stellar psychiatrist and has helped me so much for over 5 years, I cannot praise him enough. Now .. his office staff are below average. Ever since he has moved to Baxter, I have had nothing but issues with his front desk staff and practice managers. I do not want to leave because I really REALLY love the doc and the care and compassion he's shown me since day one of being his patient has meant the world. But when I'm being harassed and threatened with discharge for rescheduling 2 or 3 appts in the past FIVE years, having to leave multiple messages about my medications (that I cannot quit cold turkey but cannot automatically refill them because they're controlled) that are not being given to him and then basically being told that it is MY fault they were not filled on time ..... that has put me on the fence. I really hope all the support staff and management get either gets their crap together or just fired and replaced completely.

He said that the school's OT suggestions for typing and using smart technology is making my son lazy and that he is delayed and a slow learner. On the contrary, my son is highly intelligent. He was evaluated in the second grade and had the verbal communication skills of a 9th grader, but his writing and non verbal skills were very early kindergarten.I have never been so angry in my life. He kept referring to my son as "her" and every time I asked about medication he named different medications, not the ones that were being perscibed. He said my son was lazy and that he would never do well in life if I let him dictate to me what he wanted. I don't do this.I just felt horrible when I left. My mother went with us to the visit, and her opinion of him was the same. He only asked my son what grade he was in and how he did on his report card ( one A, 2 B's and one D.) He is in regular classes and I do not think that this is indicative of someone who is "Slow".My son's feelings were hurt very badly when we left. I had really encouraged him to open up to the Dr. and then the Dr. didn't even listen to him, just brushed him off. The last thing was:I asked him about if he thought that someone with ADHD would have to remain on medication throughout their life and what the chances are of not medicating. He told me that a person could choose not to take medication, but that they would never be successful at a job or in relationships with others. I disagree. I am in my 30's, have been with the same job for 12 years, very good at what I do and a results driven person, go to school online 18 credits per semester and have maintained a 3.91 GPA. I graduate this summer. I am not medicated, however I also have ADHD. I wanted to see what he would say. I think that he just wants to prescribe drugs and make $$.Absolutely Disgusted with this experience. I will definitely be seeking a second opinion. He requires an appointment every two months even for patients who have been stable on the same meds for years. This appointment consists of, "Hey. What have you been doing lately. How are your grades? Good, I'll send your prescriptions to the pharmacy." Parents and insurance companies are being completely ripped off. He is also very rude and condescending to the parents. Whatever you do, don't ask any questions, because he will scold you as if you are a child and have no right to question his judgement on anything. My child will no longer be seeing him, nor will anyone who asks me about him.

Before scheduling the appointment, I repeatedly asked about the cost and no one could give me a clear answer until the day before the visit. After the appointment, I was billed $500. As someone without insurance, that is a significant amount of money, and the lack of transparency about pricing beforehand was very frustrating. I have not paid this bill yet because of the issues surrounding the appointment. When I arrived, there was confusion about the intake paperwork. I had already completed the questionnaire online, but apparently it did not save in their system. I had no way of knowing that, yet the situation made me feel as if I had somehow wasted their time. The interaction felt uncomfortable and dismissive from that point on. I specifically scheduled an in-person appointment because the instructions I received stated that an in-person visit was required for medication management. However, during the appointment I was told that no controlled medication could be prescribed until labs were completed. This requirement was never mentioned beforehand. As a result, I was billed $500 for an appointment where the expectations and requirements were not communicated clearly ahead of time. The overall experience felt rushed, poorly communicated, and unprofessional. Mental health care should involve transparency, clear expectations, and respect for patients' time and finances. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

This is what I've already sent to Atrium Corporate: Husband & I waited over an hour after arriving early for my 3pm new patient appt. w/PA Jennifer Sheldon. Receptionist was warm & friendly & we enjoyed speaking to her & other patients despite waiting a ridiculous amount of time considering the chart had a "green light" for today stating "running on time". An Indian woman came in at 3:20pm for a 3:20 appt. and was called back before us (not receptionist's fault, it was the "back" that stuck their head out and called for that woman). Asked receptionist why the back would call a patient with a later appointment in ahead of us. She wondered too & went into the back but had nothing to tell us as there were other patients entering & waiting for her. I didn't get called back until 4pm or later. Very nice tech took my vitals, all were good. Then the supposedly "WONDERFUL" Jennifer came in with pre-conceived notions and was nothing like the "5 star" PA/MD (some referred to her as) we'd read about. My paperwork made it clear that I am an insomniac who needs Ambien to help with sleep & that Xanax has helped me in the past with panic/anxiety (3 deaths in immediate family & spouse with heart condition which required a triple bypass last spring). Jennifer was rushed, condescending & blunt! She didn't ask one question other than had I seen a psychiatrist or a sleep disorder MD. Told her "no and didn't plan to & with reason. Jennifer then pointed to a Surescripts printout & said I had Ambien filled as well as Triazolam on 12/12/2023. SO WHAT? I made it clear I was there to establish new patient relationship and that I'd need Ambien & something for anxiety in future. She seemed to imply I was a drug addict and despite hearing about my husband's heart condition showed no concern for either of us, said she'd never prescribe any "controlled substance" (incl. Ambien) so we left. Would love to know who's giving her those fake 5 star reviews!!!!!". FYI, I do believe that complaint I sent to Atrium Corporate regarding PA, Jennifer Sheldon, was KIND to say the least! She's totally a cold hearted, snotty, uncaring "B" who only deserves minus reviews. How did she get 240-plus "five star reviews" on Google/Atrium after being at that small practice less than a year? Sounds like Daddy, Mommy or "Uncle Buck" pushed for them or wrote them personally (maybe she or her dog did -- don't know how she could have a husband who'd stay with her for anything other than family money). BTW, MY husband sat in on that miserable meeting & was so livid I feared he'd drive off the road as he angrily went on about her on the way home. Jennifer Sheldon is the WORST person I have ever met in the medical world, STEER CLEAR!!!!!
