Kate is seriously one of the sweetest people. Make an appointment. Your body will thank you. I've been a patient here for 3 years after having scoliosis and a stress fracture for 20+ years. Dr Jolson has me pain free with a much better quality of life. My first visit was an evaluation and adjustment but he also gave me a handful of different exercises to do on my own at home. He looks at the body as a whole and the mechanics of movement to address the root of the issue rather than just the symptom. All the providers and staff are wonderful. I've received amazing care and have come to think of them as friends. They are experts in their respective fields, are passionate about what they do, and they spend time with and listen to their patients concerns. What probably means the most to me though was hearing from Dr Jolson via text after I had a baby. It was such a thoughtful gesture and one I didn't expect. They truly care about the well-being of their patients. I've seen other chiropractors in Greenville but none compare to Upstate Spine & Sport. I can't say enough great things!

He walks you through everything he is doing and gives you excersises to do at home that help relieve pain and tension. You can tell he really cares about his patients and that his goal is to get you better so that you have to visit less often. Most chiros just want to crack your back and be done. He truly wants to help you. I had a not so great experience with another doctor there that left me with severe muscle pain. I called the office manager, Kim, the next day and they brought me in. Her and Dr. Eric Weiler were such a huge help and did a great job getting me back in shape while Dr. John was out of the office. Free of charge. The massage therapists are also amazing. Leandrea is my favorite. She is super sweet and has a very calming energy. She takes her time on problem areas and explains what she is doing. She's not too rough and not too soft. Now...If you want the deepest deep tissue massage of your life, go see Stephanie! That girl has some STRONG hands, but I promise you she will work those kinks out. I truly enjoy this place and the people that work there!! I would reccomend Dr. John and Dr. Eric to anyone needing chiropractic care.

I finally found a good fit with reasonable prices, AND they accept my insurance, which makes it even more affordable. Dr. John gave me exercises to do at home to help in addition to the adjustments, and I've definitely noticed improvements in my chronic back and neck pain. All of the staff are so kind, courteous, and friendly. 10/10, would recommend!

Before coming to this office for years I struggled most of the time to get out of bed or out of my chair . after 3 or 4 weeks my wife said I have a spring back in my steps she hasn't seen in years .Since then BBC I have been doing Handyman work and not babying my back and it's been fantastic. Im c going by-weekly for maintenance and I'm very pleased with the results. The whole treatment plan is a bit pricey even with my insurance but at 67 it's a small price to pay for quality of life. thanks Guys . Sincerely, Don Letendre

Dear Dr. Modlin, We…read moregenuinely appreciated the positive impact of your first adjustment on our 5-week-old son -- it helped tremendously, which is why we returned for a follow-up appointment. However, when we scheduled that follow-up, we were never informed that the appointment would not be honored unless we committed to a treatment plan. We were presented with a recommendation for 10 visits, which felt excessive to us given the significant improvement we had already seen after the initial adjustment, and no effort was made to discuss a more flexible approach that we might have felt comfortable with. We were also very concerned by the lack of transparency regarding the financial terms of the treatment plan. The staff member who met with us was unable or unwilling to give us a definitive answer as to whether we would incur a penalty if we chose not to complete all 10 visits. Despite our repeated attempts to clarify -- including providing hypothetical scenarios, such as discontinuing after only one or two additional appointments if Guy continued improving -- we were only told that we would "possibly" be charged. My husband and I are both educated, working professionals, and yet neither of us could understand the staff member's vague responses to our straightforward questions, which strongly suggested that the arrangement was not transparent. What was most surprising and ultimately very offensive to us (what was the main motivator for me sending this note) was that Guy's scheduled follow-up appointment was not honored once we declined to commit to the treatment plan. As a parent of three children, you know firsthand the amount of effort and planning required to get out the door with a six-week-old infant. We took time off work, drove 40 minutes for a confirmed appointment, only to be told that he would not be treated. Given that the appointment had already been scheduled, it was clear that availability existed. The decision to withhold treatment because we did not agree to 10 future visits made us feel that financial commitment had become the priority over patient care. Additionally, our son was crying hard when we arrived, so we were surprised that instead of beginning treatment, we were first brought into your office for a detailed discussion about future visits and payment arrangements. At the time, that alone felt surprising and poorly timed. Once his scheduled appointment was ultimately refused, however, we better understood why the business discussion had taken priority before any attempt was made to treat or comfort him. Frankly, the lack of transparency before our arrival for the scheduled appointment was extremely off-putting. We had already paid $100 the prior week for the initial consultation, in addition to the $48 adjustment fee, at which time this policy and treatment-plan requirement could -- and should -- have been clearly explained. It really seems like a bait and switch. The requirement to commit to a treatment plan is, of course, the practice's prerogative, but it should have been clearly disclosed from the very first visit. It also left us questioning the sincerity of the otherwise pleasant interaction we experienced the week prior, including the thoughtful card we later received from you. Ultimately, this experience left a very bad taste in our mouths and struck us as bad business -- neither simple nor southern. That said, we genuinely hope that you and your team can ensure future interactions are more transparent and patient-focused. Nathan, Morgan & Guy MacNerland
