Just a short stop to get the local Italian Osteria taste, before traveling from Ludwigsburg further…read moresouth.
When you want to get a nice Italian repas de midi, you will be very well served here.
The restaurant is very near to the castle and we dropped by after reserving a table via phone.
The menu was loaded with fish and vegetables and I enjoyed the grilled sword fish with vegetables and had a standard salad, the kids had Tortellini and Tagliatelle al salmone and my wife went for the Spaghetti Gorgonzola.
The pasta was quite good, but a bit to heavy on salt and cream, which is completely legitimate and no error was made in the kitchen, I am just not to prone on cream and salt and people usually complain that I never put salt on meals. The grilled fish was very good, sword fish gets dry very easy and you need to know when to stop to cook it, but at the same time need to to get it cooked. I usually steam it for a second inbetween frying it, but that always gets the fish a bit to soft.
So full stars for the kitchen and the service of the young waiter, who spoke to me in Italian after I started doing so and never complained about my limited capabilities, because he understood that I was enjoying myself doing so. The only thing I missed was some oil, salt and pepper with the farm bread, but I could have asked, and I am certain I would have been served properly.
