My partner and I went to Camping Indigo Noirmoutier for 2 weeks,…read morelast week of August and first week of September, and really loved the
place. We hired one of their tents that overlooked the beach and I've
got to say it was the best thing we did. Waking up in the morning to
a beautiful sunrise over the sea and sitting out in the evening enjoying
some chilled wine and the view.
The beaches are great, nice and sandy and very clean, the sea was
lovely for swimming in, you could walk out quiet a bit and the water
would still only be waist high. You can really take your pick which beach
to go to they're all just a good as each other really. Found some really
nice secluded beaches up past Plage des Dames, a short climb down to
them and the beach is yours with nobody else around.
The campsite was very nice, most of the tents are pitched in a pine
forest and vehicles are not allowed to be parked next to the hire tents,
unless unpacking or packing your belongings. This is good really as your
car wont get covered in tree sap and it means the kid can pretty much
run free. For a camp size this size the toilet block were actually pretty
clean, all the toilet/shower blocks are continental, so they're mixed use.
Gents, the urinal are outside though.
The staff are very helpful, most of them spoke English if your French is
a bit rusty, there was plenty of info in the reception are for things to do
and also a list of market days, with times and locations, there's also a
computer in the reception with internet access. There is also a gipsy
wagon near the reception where you can buy hot and cold food and
drinks and it's open quiet late, about 10pm I think. There is also a shop
you can use for some supplies at the entrance of the municiple camp site,
which is a short walk from the entrance of camping Indigo, but for your
main supplies your are better off using the U-Express in Noirmoutier or the
supermarche on the D948 between La Gueriniere and Noirmoutier.
The negatives, to be picky I'd say the lack of a proper camp shop, but it's
only a 15-20 minute walk to Noirmoutier, and the childrens play area
could do with a few more things in it.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here, lovely beaches and sea, got a
suntan for the first time in ages, only one days rain in entire 2 weeks.
Would I stay again, definately.
