El Peine del Viento ('The Wind Comb') is a collection of three steel sculptures each weighing over…read morenine tons. These pieces have been positioned in the place where the city of San Sebastian ends and the sea begins, where the waves embrace the escarpments of Monte Igeldo.
Eduardo Chillida, the artist, anchored the three sculptures to the rocks, so that the incoming wind would be continually 'combed' at La Concha Bay.
This is a place where the wind and the sea beat together, it's most likely one of the most famous landmarks in Donosti. From the old town, it can be reached by foot (about 30-35 minutes) following the beach (starting at La Concha and heading away from the city) or by urban bus.
