It is just 10 minutes from La Concha beach and is one of the places with the most history and greatest charm. The best pintxos bars in San Sebastián are located in its surroundings. The Plaza de la Constitución dates back to 1817 and the first thing that catches your attention when entering its premises are the arcades, their balconies and the numbering of the windows at the top. The reason for these numbers is that they were the boxes of the old bullring. If you ever purchased one of these apartments, you knew that the balconies were rented a few times a year to the public for them to watch the bull fights. Very interesting setup, but unique.

We noticed the seal of San Sebastian above the Clock and the cafe tables at all corners within the square. The balconies of the aesthetically coloured buildings that line the Square bear numbers left over from its past when it was used as a bullring. Even if you owned an apartment here, the City retained rights to the balconies, which it could sell as box seats. Residents of course could peak over the shoulders of the paying customers.

You can also get a drink and pintxo while waiting outside too. There is an admission fee I believe and wedding on the weekends.

These pieces have been positioned in the place where the city of San Sebastian ends and the sea begins, where the waves embrace the escarpments of Monte Igeldo. Eduardo Chillida, the artist, anchored the three sculptures to the rocks, so that the incoming wind would be continually 'combed' at La Concha Bay. This is a place where the wind and the sea beat together, it's most likely one of the most famous landmarks in Donosti. From the old town, it can be reached by foot (about 30-35 minutes) following the beach (starting at La Concha and heading away from the city) or by urban bus. I had a crepe filled with crab meat salad. The crepe was nice, but the crab had a bit much sauce for my liking. Still not bad though. The breaded cod tapa was nice. I love the peppers and the light breading. The salmon wafer was my favorite. Overall, pretty good tapas and a vibrant scene. Worth a visit.

The final bridge was inaugurated in 1905, the feast of San Sebastián. The bridge stands out for the four monumental obelisks, located at its ends, 18 meters high and crowned by beautiful sculptures and gold decorations. I walked past it going from downtown to the bus station, but many many people admire this bridge during walking tours of the city.

Ate lunch and then, on the way back, decided, on a whim, to walk up into the park. What a gorgeous place. The view of the bay is awesome. The park is relaxing. There were families relaxing and kids playing. From here it is a gentle downward slope back to the city center. Only, instead of a hot Paseo walk, you get to walk in the shade.\ €zero
