I love lighthouses. My 5th great grandfather was a lighthouse keeper in Rhode Island and I often try to visit one when I am in an area that has them. This is one of the better known lighthouses in France and I am very pleased that we visited when we did.
It is located away from the more touristy areas in Biarritz. Since we were visiting in the off-season, there was plenty of parking. There is a museum, a walking path, and a small park that has gorgeous views of Biarritz and its famous coastline.
I will also have a special place in my heart for this because it was one of the last places that I visited with my dog, Diego. He really loved how it was a sunny day with a small amount of wind, his perfect day so he could feel the sun on his skin and smell the sea. I will always remember my visit here. Oscar enjoyed it too. read more
