Inscrite au patrimoine de l'Unesco, de style gothique, la cathédrale est élevée à l'emplacement d'une cathédrale romane incendiée. Les travaux ont débuté en 1258 et se sont achevés à la fin de la Guerre de Cent Ans. On peut contempler le chevet de la cathédrale, admirable par l'harmonie et la répartition de ses masses. Les superbes vitraux des hautes fenêtres ont été bien restaurés, en particulier dans la chapelle Saint-Jérome, sans doute le plus beau vitrail de la cathédrale (1531) : le Christ y chasse le démon du corps de la Cananéenne (il s'en échappe sous la forme d'une chauve-souris). A remarquer un beau heurtoir du XIIIe siècle qu'il suffisait de saisir pour ne pas être arrêté avoir après commis quelques larcins, il était baptisé "l'anneau d'asile".

Eduardo Chillida, the artist, anchored the three sculptures to the rocks, so that the incoming wind would be continually 'combed' at La Concha Bay. This is a place where the wind and the sea beat together, it's most likely one of the most famous landmarks in Donosti. From the old town, it can be reached by foot (about 30-35 minutes) following the beach (starting at La Concha and heading away from the city) or by urban bus. I had a crepe filled with crab meat salad. The crepe was nice, but the crab had a bit much sauce for my liking. Still not bad though. The breaded cod tapa was nice. I love the peppers and the light breading. The salmon wafer was my favorite. Overall, pretty good tapas and a vibrant scene. Worth a visit.
