We had promises made, heard excuse after excuse. had delays, wrong items delivered, delivery issues, etc. It really boggles the mind! Retail needs sales yet the Lufkin store motto seems to be give no customer service, lie, do not respond, just move on to the next person. I made the mistake of going into the Lufkin Conn's on Sunday, February 4th. I was greeted by a nice young man salesman. Looking for a small Bluetooth speaker, he directed me to what they had available, and on impulse, I bought a small Sony speaker. After the purchase, I quickly realized that it was very overpriced, $90 more than the same thing at Best Buy. I contacted the store the very next day and requested a price match but was informed that they only honor that at the time of purchase. After saying that I would just return the speaker, the employee spoke with a manager, Ms. Debbie, who said they would honor the price match if I came in to the store within 30 days. On day 7, 2/11, my husband went to the store for the refund of the price match, at which time the manager on duty, Jessica, said they would not honor it. I spoke with Jessica on the phone and stated that we would simply return it for a refund. We were well within the 14-day return policy. She explained that they have a 15% restocking fee, which I agreed to. My husband took in the speaker in its original packaging with the receipt. Jessica made a phone call to get approval for the return and blatantly LIED to customer service saying that the speaker was defective, that it was making a "noise." At no point did we ever express that the speaker was defective. We have dealt with the corporate office numerous times, filed an Incident Report, and have received absolutely no help, only runaround. I have never been treated so rudely and without any attempt to make reparation for a matter by a company. read more

Came to you guys after Lowe's and home depot dropped the ball. The delivery guy not only found our address for the drop off and setup but he showed up 4 hours early. That was certainly worth cash tip and a couple energy drinks. I need anything else delivered, I'm going to you guys first. read more

Wow !! Don't Shop at the store especially if you're a woman !! I had heard around town that the store manager was a jerk,but I thought I would go to the store and see what they had to offer. I was looking to purchase a washer dryer combo. The salesman that we had was very nice and cordial. They had a washer in stock and we paid for it,but they had to order the dryer. They told us we had to pay for the dryer first before they would order it. That was just fine with us but we wanted some guarantee that if the dryer did not come in we would get a refund. The salesman told us it may be months before the dryer would come in & according to him it might not ever come in. We requested the manager signed the slip of paper/ receipt acknowledging that we would get our money back if the dryer did not come in. I had heard from citizens in our town that they were having a hard time getting money refunded to them after ordering a product and that product not coming in. Also I was told by many customers and our town that the manager was very rude and would not honor what he says. This is why I wanted him to sign a receipt of the dryer acknowledging that we would get a refund if the dryer did not come in. The salesman went back to talk to the manager. After him being gone for a while I walked toward them,I had NOT said a word when I was approached by a raging store manager!!! He got in my face and started yelling at me saying,He was not signing anything !! I explained to him or should I say I tried to explain to him that there had been issues at this store and we just wanted a guarantee that we would get our money back if the dryer did not come in. He would not let me finish the sentence. He kept telling me that,"he was talking"and he kept saying that, "he was talking and that I just need to listen to him" ! This manager was raising his voice and being very loud and condescending. I was in shock!! I have never been treated so badly in my life. After listening to him going off on me,I turned around and walked to the front of the store to my husband to tell him what was going on. Apparently the manager was following me because he approached my husband and looked at me and in a male chauvinist way and said," I will explain to your husband !" I told his manager that he was being rude and that I understood fully that there would be a receipt and that would be a contract according to the manager but we just wanted him to sign it to guarantee that contract. We wanted him to sign this especially since all the bad things we've heard about this manager around town. This very rude manager talking very loudly continues to try to explain to my husband everything that we already knew. Once again he turns to me and says," I will explain things to your husband !" I had had enough by this time and I told him very firmly that he needed to stop being condescending to me. What a jerk!! He continually got louder and louder and louder and tell us if we're not happy with it then we can just walk right out the door and that he is not signing anything. (Apparently this manager does not believe that the cons corporation stands behind their word because if he did he would have signed that receipt acknowledging the contract) So this is what we did. We went and canceled the washer that we paid for and told them to cancel the dryer that we paid for and we walked out the door!!! Like I said he has a horrible reputation around town and the store has a horrible reputation around town but I thought I would see for myself instead of taking someone else's word. Beware, do not buy from this store, beware there is a male chauvinist loudmouth manager that works at the store that is very condescending !!! Who in their right mind would want to shop at that cons in Lufkin Texas. The manager needs to deal with his anger issues and his rage and his problems with women. PS.. we went to another store and purchased a washer and dryer combo from another business that was so helpful and kind. read more

My elderly father purchased a recliner in September, finally showed up in October and was the wrong one. Delivery driver said to keep it and the store would swap it out. Dad had it load and taken back to store the very next day and they would not except it and as well told him to take it back home and it would be exchanged for the correct one. We had a really bad experience with their rent to own business that they go through and I told myself I would never go back...But we decided to go and take a look at what they had and just buy it outright. They had nice stuff, but it is so cheaply made and way overpriced. (I would know because that is where we bought our bed.) I don't recommend buying anything wooden from here. We bought a refrigerator a year ago from Conn's and almost one year to the day, the ice maker stopped working. Since it was still under the manufacturer's warranty, the ice maker was replaced and we still had a problem with the circuit board. Samsung refunded the purchase price to Conn's and told us to go and pick out a new refrigerator. This is where everything started to go downhill. We spoke with the manager and picked out our refrigerator. When we got the paperwork for the new refrigerator I noticed that we were charged for a two-year warranty that lasted only 6 months! I pointed that out to the manager he said it was I.T.'s fault and that he would get it fixed, but our refrigerator would be delivered on the following Saturday (13). Thursday(11) we called and the manager said that they had not figured out why it said only 6 months for a two-year warranty, but we should trust him that it was okay. In writing is my mantra, so I told him that I needed something in writing that showed this, he countered and said that I.T. could not give that to me, but everything was okay. I told him that I would then cancel the two-year warranty that was only for 6 months and he told me to come in the following week. We waited for the refrigerator to be delivered on Sat. (13th) since they called Friday(12th) and also sent me an email, but it never came and when I called late Saturday they were all apologetic and said they were out and someone should have called. They also told me that it would be delivered the following Sat.(20th) but, to call and verify. I did call the following Friday(19th) and was told that there were no refrigerators available and that I should have gotten another call that did not happen!!! When I asked why this was happening they told me that the manager of the store could see when the refrigerator would be delivered and should have told me. The manager says that I.T. is not keeping him informed. The long and short of it---they have my money, I have no refrigerator, and no one knows when it will come. Stay away!! read more
