We, Ted and Martha Carlisle bought the furniture in questions 6 months ago. It's just my husband and I in the household. The damaged chair is by the window and has only been used 3 times. I proceeded to use it myself and it felt unstable, I had to get up fast to prevent the fall. I called Conn's customer service to complain about the chair and I was told to tighten the screws, I was very angry, I just bought this I explained. The customer service representative said that I needed to do maintenance on it. That was absurd but I had to give her the benefit of the doubt.
My husband tightened all the screws and still the dinning chair was unstable. We did further inspection of the chair and there is a crack on the wood under one of the corners. I'm disappointed at the POOR quality, assembly and customer service. I folled the channels by calling customer service, service and repair, insurance adjuster and finally brought the 4 faulty chairs to the store. The manager "MICHAEL" was very condensing imagine, I'm a return customer my husband and I have spent over $7000 dollars in the store and still have a current account with the balance of $1500. Micheal refused to call his supervisor or anyone that could help me with this issue. He pointed at the sign with customer service phone number, the same one I make payments to. So, I had no choice but to call. My pleas were useless. I was told that I should have done better research and that "if the chairs don't work for me, {obese person}, then I should have not bought them. I proceed to tell her that it's not like I bought them online without seeing them and sitting on them. I went directly to there store and showroom. I really wanted to be civil about this. As I was talking to customer service in the store, the manager made my atmosphere a living hell. He had an employee vacuum floors around me, turn up the music and test the surround sound, thankfully there wasn't anyone at the store but my father-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew. I had no choice but to write to channel 2 on your side, BBB, FTC, Attorney General, Federal Reserve and to the CEO of Conn's in Texas.
I want this resolved. I would like to exchange dinning chairs, or credit on the account where I'm still making payments on. Delivered to my house at no extra charge, due to the inconvenience and since I had already paid for delivery. I want to be able to say that I am a completely satisfied customer to the superlative degree in a TIMELY MANNER. But after is fiasco, I will never shop there again and I will make sure everyone knows it.
