People at the party thoroughly enjoyed the food. People were really impressed with the pulled pork and meatballs. The food was seasoned well and again was simply delicious. Serving utensils, stands for the hot food and heating elements were provided. There was a hiccup with the delivery. The food was to be delivered at 6:00 pm, but it arrived at 5:10 pm and they forgot to give me the silverware and napkins. Laurie did call me after I emailed her about the early arrival and the missing items. All is well. Even with the minor snafu I would highly recommend this catering service. Our server was nice, but I wouldn't necessarily say the service was great -- she smiled and tried to be helpful, but nothing more. The food was great overall: spinach artichoke fondue, elk gnocchi (a special), and carrot cake were awesome. The Beef Wellington special was so-so.. I'd opt to try something else next time. The daily wine (pinot noir) was good, but the pour felt pretty small for the glass price ($15). This is totally nit-picky, but we had a super wobbly table. The manager tried to fix it, but even with a wedge it didn't help. The reason I'm nit-picking is because I feel like this place is so close to being an amazing experience. A bit of lift in service and comfort (the broken table) and it could be incredible. I'll for sure be going back to give it a 2nd (and maybe 3rd) chance. There are plenty of other things on the menu that look great!

Country Pines has provided catering to our office at least twice in the past year and each time was…read morereally bad. In the summer, it was sub sandwiches that had obviously been made days in advance. The lettuce was soggy and the cheese had turned to liquid. Not good at all. They recently catered our holiday lunch and again, it was really terrible. I don't know how you mess up cheesy hashbrown casserole but this was watery, not cheesy and super garlicy. The green beans were also really garlicy. The staff was very nice but the food was the worst I've had via catering.

I attended a wedding and reception at Country Pines recently. Overall the experience there was OK,…read morebut the venue could have done more to make the experience better for guests. First of all, the reception space is nicely laid out, but for an outside venue they really ought to have more fans. On a hot, humid day, it got pretty uncomfortable. The fans they do have do not move, I asked. So if you're able to choose your summer reception seat, sit directly in front of the breeze! The grounds are very pretty, and well-maintained. The wedding ceremony area was pretty too, with barn doors that open and close as the bride comes down the aisle. The aisle itself is made of very uneven cobblestone, which was bothersome. Cobblestone is quaint but difficult to walk on in heels. They really should have leveled the ground where they were going to put the brick/cobblestone --this would help guests more easily walk on it. We also had some elderly family members that struggled. The serving staff was quite attentive. Rarely an an empty plate or glass sit on a table for more than a few minutes. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I realize that the bride and groom made the food choices, but don't offer something if it isn't tasty. The teriyaki chicken chunks were dry inside and the sauce tasted like what you would get in a frozen entrée packet. The pulled pork was drowned in sauce to cover up the fact that it was dry and stringy. The steamed vegetables were flavorless. The iced tea was very watered-down. The best tasting thing was the corn casserole, but it is sort of inherently bland so at least that tasted like it was supposed to! I know that wedding food being bad is a cliché, but this is some of the worst catered food I've had.

It's eclectic and book-ish, with shelves lining the walls and cocktails inspired by favorites! There was a good mix of tables and space to mingle. It was great for the type of event we were at. I'd love to come back again sometime. I was also very happy to see a mocktail menu and am glad many places are moving in that direction. For my mocktail, I tried the Practical Magic (lavendar, house sour, orange bitters), and it was delicious - almost like a sparkling lavendar lemonade. I wish I could have tried the Secret Garden (prickly pear, lime, orange), but they were out of the tequila alternative, and I hadn't thought to sub in real tequila at the time. For my cocktail, I tried the Lavendar and Lace, mostly because I was intrigued by the egg white foam. This is a gorgeous drink to look at and equally to enjoy. It's a bit sweet for my usual liking, but it was delicious none the less.
