The room was equipped with everything from fancy coffee maker to complimentary fridge filled with beverages! The place is a dream come true and we honestly can't wait to go back! The walk to get to the castle is harsh because you have to park down the hill but they are SO ACCOMMODATING and let you unload your luggage and leave it at the top. It's a truly magical experience that you will never forget! Everything was wonderful! In the morning for your complimentary breakfast they ask if you want some nice warm eggs it's just perfect! It is directly on the water front, shops, restaurants, and cafes are all at your fingertips... it's a matter of choosing what you want to do, where you want to eat, or grab a drink. It is also located right next to the famous castle of Thun which we could see from our bedroom window. It was pricey but it was a splurge for our family. The service was amazing, the location superb. We were able to park behind the hotel even though the parking lot was full, otherwise we would have had to take our car to the public lot several blocks away. Farmer's Market greeted us in the center square as we checked out. This was a wonderful surprise as we were able to get fresh flowers, cheeses, produce, etc. for our continuing trip to Beatenberg. Yes it is expensive, but it was worth it. Delightful breakfast is included with your stay and given how expensive everything is in Switzerland, the meal would cost approx 70fr. for 4. It makes me feel like we got a deal. : )

My view of the river was breathtaking, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had great water pressure, & the location was absolutely unbeatable! I am aware that AC isn't necessarily a standard or normal thing in Europe but I have been in plenty of hotels that do have it. Normally this issue would have brought it down by 2 stars but it only brought them down by 1 star because they went ahead and already had a fan in my room so that helped keep me cool at least. (Can't really sleep with the balcony open either because of all the bugs from the water) The added breakfast was good but nothing extra special or out of the ordinary. I absolutely plan to come back again in the future.

We were able to use the kitchen and cook several meals which we wouldn't have done if we stayed at the Hotel. I didn't realize when booking that we had to pay for the spa, or breakfast, seperately but we only used those amenities once so we were fine paying extra. It was PRIME location even with a stroller and everything was walkable. I wish the hotel staff checked in with us in the apartments once or twice during our 6 night stay to ensure we had enough pillows and towels but beside that, we absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back.
