Coney Art Walls are such a cool thing among all the craziness. It gets overlooked. The food and rides attract people. Best thing about these are they're free. You can also find some food trucks. Along Stillwell you'll find these right beside Nathan's Famous. It mostly is around the main gates. The walls seem to be painted by local artists, with many panels having some kind of Coney Island theme. Not all of them do. On some are wacky depictions of famous cartoon characters, or another pop culture reference. The panels are very creative and you can spend awhile looking at these Currently there's more than 30 panels. The panels are attached to fencing so it's not really like a wall. It thankfully does not cost anything. Luna Park admission is not required to get to it. This can be visited any time of the year. read more

Went Here Yesterday For A Event That Pretty Run The City Hosted. Lobster Fest With Fabolous Performing Live. There Was Supposed To Be Complementary Lobster & Crab inspired dishes From 3-4:30. My friends & I Got There Late (as per usual) so I didn't see any signs of anything free lol but all in all it was a good time. Security checked everyone's bags and we were greeted to the sounds of the DJ on stage. People were having a good time. Lines were long for the food. Porta Potty's we're actually amazingly SHOCKING clean! They also had HAND WASHING stations with soap and water! The food was $20 for eveything on one tray which was like rice, bbq chicken, jerk chicken, & rasta pasta. Fabolous came out and performed at 9pm it was a good event from 3-10pm. read more

This is the go-to spot each and every Summer! This venue host huge events each weekend that range from concerts to day parties. I attended Fun with Friends, The Fabolous concert, Angie Martinez BBQ, etc. here. I love the various murals throughout the venue as well as the different food vendors available. Even the Porta Potties are in decent condition overall. Looking forward to coming here this summer for more events. read more

I was in the area looking for my caramel apples before I headed home and walked right into this amazing outside art gallery. I literally stopped in my tracks and took my phone out for some pictures, I was in awe of the cool artwork that was just in this open area of space. It was early in the morning so there was hardly anyone there and I was able to browse at my leisure and enjoy the beautiful murals. I loved that they had a plaque recognizing all the artists in gallery. My favorite was the one with the Coney Island words in the background, It was just so lively and New Yorkish. I like the art walls. Anything to bring a lil culture to south BK I can get behind. Some of the pieces are truly striking like the Ronald McDonald one and my favorite the ice cream cones. Actually liked it better when it first started a few years ago before the DJ and the guard at the door. They incorporate different food vendors each year. With over 30 murals you can definitely spend some time wandering around, posing, taking photos, etc. I found many artists that I recognized from around the city, and was introduced to a few new ones. I was heading to a show at the Ford Ampitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk (which is a heck of a mouthful to say when it comes down to it) and after my must visit to Nathan's Famous, I had some extra time and saw that I was right near the Coney Art Walls display. This wonderful grouping of standalone walls is free to wander about and each side of them is richly decorated by an area artist with beautiful murals. Among the names that I noticed were Pop artist Ron English and since I was trying to get through this quickly to head to my next destination, I didn't make notes on who else I was looking at. There seemed to be around "25" pieces of art in total and it was very, very nice. I suggest that if you are heading to this neck of the woods that you get here a little early, do a Nathan's visit (if you like that stuff of course), and then explore the art walls. You will be right near the Boardwalk and its amazing pier so please do that as well. read more

Whether you're an art lover or not, The Coney Art Walls are something to be seen! They're are all so unique with such personality! Just when you think you found your favorite you want to snap a selfie in front of, you turn the corner and there's an even better one! There's always a new one popping up each time we visit and sometimes if you're lucky you can catch an artist at work! Way cool!! The Art Walls are a super fun, vibrant, edgy, eclectic addition to the area, one I'm really in love with. They totally mimic the feel of the locale perfectly. You'll find snake charmers, bird carriers, dancers, you name it, hanging out front and inside of the walls. People watching at its finest here. This is home base for the Coney Island Smorgasbord, but even when that's not going on there are still permanent food pop ups like delicious Pomme frites and Table 87 flatbread pizza to name a few. Tons of local brews too. There's a ton of space to spread out and just chill for awhile. Whether you prop up against a wall to grab some shade or dine at one of the picnic tables, you're set. There's shuffle board, cornhole and other games to play while the rollercoasters go on next to you. On bigger days like the Mermaid Parade and the 4th of July, there's a super rockin' DJ! It's a huge party inside the walls! Loads of fun! We have never had to pay a cover or were denied access with our kiddos and we have come all hours of the day. You are never however allowed to bring in food of any sort. They check bags and make you leave food and liquids of any kind outside, even water bottles. P.S. If you need a place to charge your phone on a busy beach day, you'll find outlets in some of the walls. Just kick back, grab some food and drinks and charge away while you hang. read more

It was an unexpected find that was really pleasing to see. Just off the Boardwalk, there is an artwalls installation, not too big, not too small, with few really interesting pieces. We came thru during the Antique car show, so Smorgasburg, which reside on same lot, was close for season - but walls themselves are pretty curious to wonder around. It's definitely worth visiting in summer when Smorgasburg reopens. I hope it grows and stays at the locations - it is a great addition to Coney Island. read more

Cute, hip area with multiple art murals from various artists. I admire art culture and am happy they brought this flair to Brooklyn. This place reminds me a lot like the Wynwood art district in Miami. They have food trucks, spacious seating , live music on the weekends, and huge painted artwork. I did think it was a bit bigger then it was however, its a small but a great start. I really hope they expand! I came today, which was a Thursday afternoon and only one food truck was opened which was disappointing. There was also hardly anyone in there so I had the ability to view all of the pieces at my own leisure which was relaxing. The pieces are vibrant, edgy and seriously a great addition to Coney Island. I will definitely be back and would like to attend when they have their live bands on the weekends! read more

I love wall murals. This reminded me of Wynwood Walls in Miami. It's not as big but it's a great start. It's part of Coney Smorgasburg, which is really exciting. I had a vio ticket for $100 that allowed me express entry.i git in right away.i managed to get up front right behind the gate. I had a clear view of 50 cent. Went here last Saturday for The Rub x 143 Dance Party. I haven't been to Coney Island in a really long time so I was excited to check out The Coney Art Walls. There are so many things to do, see, and eat around the area and the Art Walls are a sweet addition. There are several murals to check out, take a good selfie. My favorite was the NYC mural towards the back of the gallery. They also have various food trucks though not too many of them were open during the dance party. The deejays played some great jams perfect for dancing. The weather was overcast, but it didn't rain until the late evening. It does get loud around the stage area, but if you need a quiet area, you can head towards the back. There were plenty of chairs and tables for those who need a break from dancing. They have "restrooms" which were a cross between a port-o-potty and regular restroom. There was soap, water, and flushable-ish toilets. I think someone dropped a deuce before so it was a bit smelly. Lol. Overall, an awesome place. It's free to enter (unless there's an event going on). So grab some friends, eat lunch, and check out the art. read more

The Art Wall is conveniently located behind Nathan's Famous, so after you grub on some dogs, you can walk through on your way to the boardwalk. I came here on a weekday, so it was mostly empty with passerbys taking selfies and roaming around to see some really cool murals. I'm sure this place gets packed on weekends with events and such, so it's nice to enjoy the bare space. My favorite mural is from Miss Van. I have loved her work for a long time and it was my first time seeing it here in Coney Island. read more

Took a way to Stars due to an incident that happened at a concert I attendant on July 15th, there was this bum ass security guard she was brown skin Slim with the side of her head shaved and box braids, this bum ass b**** tried to tell me that I could not bring my marijuana inside with me although it is legal and carries the same weight as a box of Newports into the event but she will let me slide if I hit her off with some money then when I asked another security guard if that was their protocol I was told no and when I turned back around to confront this bum ass b**** that tried to take me she called another security guard who was a tall light skinned ball headed doofus and she told him i wasn't with the program and escorted me out. I did make my way back in because I paid for that s*** but by the time the concert was over and I came back out looking for this b**** to smack Flames out of her she was gone. I would love to attend more concerts here but Coney Island needs to update their security perhaps work with a different company because I don't want to go to jail choking up a b**** when I'm trying to have fun,ty read more

It was a hot mess! No seating (there are seats in the food area, but none in the actual concert area), no outside food or drinks (this was to be expected), outrageous prices! I spent $5 on ONE bottle of 20 oz Poland spring water. There wasn't any other option considering it was 87 degrees. Security was disgustingly rude and I'm not talking about one guard I'm talking about all but one. On our way out we encountered one guard with manners. I was pushed twice earlier by a make security guard and nothing was said! Absolutely will not attend another event here! read more

It's always nice when there is something interesting and free to do. You can go look at these murals any time of day when visiting Coney Island. Everything else here will depart you from your money soon enough, so enjoy this free thing to do. That being said, all of the murals are from the North-Brooklyn variety if you know what I mean, modern hipster-y stuff by current artists from one genre. It would be really cool if they hired local artists to pitch in too, so there were a variety of different kinds of murals here. But this isn't just a Coney Island problem, it's a problem everywhere. You have four kinds of murals: 1. modern art, funky, fake Urban-graffiti murals like these ones 2. schoolchildren Unity murals (usually on the sides of schools or public buildings, talking about diversity or recycling) 3. memorial murals for someone who was shot nearby (locally painted, not the most professional but full of meaning) ...and then there's a huge gap between this and 4. the fine-art murals inside government buildings meant to last forever. I guess we're lucky to get hipster urban murals..better than nothing, right?? But I don't want Coney Island turning into another Dumbo. How about a big cool art project that focused on truly local artists from this part of Brooklyn? read more

I attended an event this past weekend which featured, Drew Hill, 112, Jagged Edge. I was honestly disappointed. Drew Hill was amazing the DJ was the whole show. Jagged Edge didn't show and 112 took so long I left. Drew hill didn't come on until 9ish. Its a shame we had to wait so long. Nobody said anything until the last minute that Jagged Edge wasn't coming I brought two tickets and I want some kind of compensation for them not showing up and have to wait so long for the entertainment. I WILL NEVER GO THERE FOR ANYTHING AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. The security or the welcoming committee, whatever were rude no manners at all toothless and tacky. I understand the searching but this lady was disgusting, not the way we keep business coming. I felt the Art Wall should have featured some Art from people in Coney Island. the Art wasn't very welcoming to me. whomever planned that event could have done better, people always except this as entertainment they will never get my money again. read more
