You read that right, not only can you rent and buy canoes here, but you can pick up all your Dungeons and Dragons needs.

I have availed myself of their services from canoe rental to shuttle service and even bought two of their used canoes for my personal use. In each instance, I have found them to be unfailingly polite, reasonable and attentive to the needs of their customers. I have never had a reason to complain after any of my dealings with the Outback Adventures personnel. My only complaint, and a minor one it is, is the cost of shuttling a canoe as part of a larger trip. Otherwise, they operate a first-class establishment on the wild and scenic Allegheny River.

It has a gorgeous setting right on the Clarion River surrounded by trees and hills. There are several overlooks along the river, and you can walk right alongside in several sections, as well as do some fishing. There are a number of picnic areas to enjoy, plus sports fields and courts. There is a very nice playground near a staffed swimming pool that offers free entry. The bathhouse is open air and pretty basic, but the pool is in good condition with chairs and umbrella tables around deck. There is a nice large parking lot available.

It feels like a park you could come back to in every season and have a completely different experience. There is also a welcome center with a small gift shop and a nature center. It feels like something too cool for WNY. Stop by during the hot air balloon festival in the summer and watch the sky fill with color over the gorge. Get off the rim trail and explore the trails that go through the woods. Make time for the less populated side of the park. Fewer people, more natural trails, and no admission fee. It has a completely different vibe and is perfect if you want something a little more peaceful.
