This is a beautiful park with large trees all around! They keep this place immaculate! Located off of Butler and Brighton in Grass Valley. Many people enjoy the walking trails. They have plenty of benches to either read or enjoy your lunch. I went today to walk and enjoy the sunshine. TOTALLY safe by myself! They have bochii ball, disc park, basketball court, outdoor skating area, fenced dog park, etc. They also have a large covered area with picnic tables and grills. The park has 2 separate fenced areas with slides and other fun things for the kiddos. I noticed there is several public restrooms throughout the park There is also a renovated baseball field inside the park. There is a pond and most of the walking trails are pretty flat and easy to walk. I love to come here and throw a Frisbee or just chill under one of the massive trees that are all around the park. Centrally located. And close to everything. So quiet in the mornings! This is my happy place to relax! read more

I was happy to find this park was kept up! Saw absolutely no litter nor any homeless encampments like in many parks in the East Bay of California. It felt safe and was enjoyable to walk the trails. Easy parking and the parking lot was free from creepy people at least when I was there (another issue at many parks/rec areas these days). The trails are well maintained and I loved that you could get away from the house and streets in the middle of the park. read more

Fun disc golf very challenging. When holes are moved. Long little crowded sometimes matters what time the day but definitely great course.

Beautiful woodsy park with lots to see and do. We went to explore Dogs Run Free, a large off-leash dog park, but loved wandering the whole park and stumbling upon the skate park, disc golf course, bocci ball area and more. Our favorite part was walking through the arboretum! read more

This park is okay. I was a little disappointed with the trails that led nowhere and just ended. I came in from out of town and this park was halfway between my friend and I. We had planned on doing some walking/hiking, but each trail we walked on abruptly ended. Maybe we just weren't sure where to go. It did seem nice for skate boarders and other activities. read more

This park reminds me of the ones I would go to located in Santa Rosa. Trails, bocce ball, disc golf, baseball, tennis courts, skate park and two dog parks, plenty of covered park picnic benches. I enjoyed my self. However would have liked to stay longer. But because the dog park was too heavily utilized we had to cut the visit short. Various parking outlets. This park has it all. A two baseball/softball fields, basketball court, picnic area, playgrounds, skate park, bocci ball and 18 holes of disk golf. The course has huge trees and a small stream which comes into play on two of the holes. This is the best course in the area. These are the positives. The negatives are related to the large homeless population, tweekers and pot smoking. This could/should be a five star park but due to the negatives it's only a 3 star. read more

Condon Park Dog Park is new to Grass Valley, (Sep 2011). In this area dog owners would have to take their best friends to a leash park or Western Gate Way Dog Park or Auburn Dog Park. It is very nice to have one so close now. I really love taking my dog Amaya to the park here, in the tall Pines. Here are the main issues: 1. When it rains--red mud is very bad, (don't come out until it is dry) 2. Some owners don't pick up, and the wood chips used as the grown cover, ummm covers up those little surprises. Tip: watch where you step. The community here is just great, I am so very happy to be part of a wonderful town. Come on up to the only Valley that matters. read more

This place is good for family and friends to have fun. The newest park is pretty cool and fun for kids to enjoy a sunny day.

We had a mini-family reunion here this past June and loved the park. My cousin lives in Grass Valley so she was familiar with the area. We had plenty of picnic tables for a group of about 25. Nice shady area and the weather was perfect. read more

I have been to the dog park several times in the last months. Each time has been different. The last time I went 3 dogs from the same owner surrounded my dog and started growling at her. The owners were nowhere to be found and I was reluctant to approach the dogs. I tried calling my dog and every time she started moving toward me the dogs were surround her again. I finally yelled, "whose flippin dogs are these!" The owner came like it was not big deal. As I left I saw all of the other dog owners also leave. I hate when someone ruins a great place. While I've been to Condon Park countless times as a child, teenager, and an adult, this review is specifically for the dog park. The dog park is located in the back left of Condon, right before the skate park. I don't know how long this has been here, and I can't think of any other dog parks in Grass Valley, so this is a nice addition. A group of 4 of us brought 3 dogs to the dog park, mostly for them to get some energy out, but also because we had just been at the river and we wanted them to dry off before heading home. The park itself is pretty big and is kind of broken up, so it's not just one boring rectangle. There are trees, tubs of water for them to cool off in, fake fire hydrants, ramps to run up and hoops to jump through, hoses to fill up water bowls, and benches for owners. There's also a side park, that's considerably smaller for small and/or shy dogs. You can get to this either through the main park, or around the left side of the park. The whole park is a dirt and woodchip combination. So, if your dog partakes in the water tubs, don't expect to have a clean dog by the time you leave. The dust can get pretty bad too. I'm sure it's a mud pit in the fall and winter, but I can't say that with any experience. One thing that impressed me was the very clear, posted rules - no more than 3 dogs per person, no children under 12 without adult supervision, you're responsible for breaking up any fights or other vicious behavior, you're responsible for picking up after your dog, etc. I think in many parks, these are rules that most people follow, up it's nice to see them actually posted. Overall, definitely a place I'd bring my dog back to when I'm in town. read more

Condon Park - Happy dogs at Condon's Off Leash Dog Park - Dog Parks Near Me - Grass Valley, California

We brought our two mediums/small dogs to the park to play. After asking several people with dogs where the dog park was located, we found it. Note: none of the people we asked took their dogs to the dog park. Went through a couple of gates and entered - ground is dusty dirt, pine needles and bits of bark. Tried playing frisbee with our dog but there are too many trees. Dog ended up eating far too much dirt. Good watering buckets. Some huge dogs and owners who don't pay attention to dogs & where they poop. We won't go back. read more

Has a lot to offer, but the amount of geese poop everywhere is disgusting. I come here a lot because of how close by it is, but the amount of geese poop is a little over the top. I think this park would greatly improve if there was a possibility of adding this to maintanece's work load, I understand that maybe they have alot on their plates, but I don't want to have to be constantly looking at the ground making sure I don't cover my shoes by the end of my day. A very nice park- only able to visit it once, as I was in town for the day. Met a couple of nice dogs and people and my pup had quite a bit of fun! Love the trees. Wish the skateboard park had its own water fountain though, as skateboarders came in a couple times to get water, adding an odd distraction. read more

Little kids sometimes don't look where they are going but those are the usual skate park woes for adults who skate (skating 20+ years). +1 For a great dog park. And there aren't a lot of hippies taking their rescue mutt pit bulls there. +1 For other things of a high quality like the baseball diamond, the bocce ball court and the disc golf course. +1 For all the childhood memories. -1 star for the amount of kids on drugs or selling drugs mid summer on a weekday. Great park in Grass Valley with Dog Park / Skate Park / 18 Hole Disc Golf Course. Usually pretty crowded no matter what part of the park your in. There is a BBQ picnic area right when your driving into the park along with softball fields as well. One of the best Disc Golf courses in the north state! read more

I'm new to the area and hoped to find a dog park to let my dog run around and play. This was not a good match for us. Waaaaaay too much red dirt/dust/mud. This could be the premier dog park .... but .... alas. Too many problems. So much heartfelt work has gone into this park and it is a shame people who come to the park spend time talking and not watching their dogs. If you mention their dog has left a mess they can not find it. (among the pine cones, small branch sticks, and shredded cedar bark, debris) brought in from other areas. Sticky and clings to coats.Horriffic! My dogs come home with tons of debris including "sticky poo." Many times dogs are brought in that are not socialized, have aggressive tendencies and do not listen to their owner. Some owners just call out no! no! sit! /stop/ sit !.... as the dog continues and chases aggressively. A shrug and too bad ? No one tells the person if the dog does not mind, you should leave. The only dogs that enjoy the park are those that play fetch, small dogs that are in the the large dog area but never venture far from the owners side. Some short haired type, dogs. My grandson (5) and I visited both playgrounds in the immediate area. He enjoyed both, but all play structures were unshaded making some parts uncomfortably hot as there is no shade. We'll try again when it's cooler. The lower one was perhaps a little friendlier with the bathrooms and a bench nearer to the play structures. Water was readily available for both. read more
