Compred to the other student homes here, this is definitely one of the nicest! It is literally a 60…read moresecond walk onto campus (East Campus Hall). The building has many amenities including a fitness centre, study rooms, ping pong, party room, etc. The building has a few different restaurants on the commercial floor which can be accessed from outside of the building. The building management is by no means amazing but are, for the most part, better than the other managements around the city. It is nice that the office is right inside the building when you need them. I will say they are very evasive about promises that they've made, even ones that are written on paper. They will keep blowing these off untill your lease ends. The other con is that this building is very expensive to rent. The rent can be well over $800 per month depending on your circumstances, and signing bonuses do not happen here given its popularity. And just an FYI, the building demographics is similar to MC or DC, just saying. Tenants here tend to be spoiled and not understand that you must toss your garbage down the shoot, no one will do it for you. If you don't own a BMW, Benz or Porsche then your car will look like garbage in the Blair House lots (cry, that's me driving an old rusted beater). Overall, one of the best buildings in Waterloo especially for UW students. Lots of complaints but these would likely be the same complaints had you been living at any other building.

I've been living in this building for more than half a year now, so I've experienced both summer…read moreand winter conditions. The units are large. I have a "small" one bedroom and it's over 850 sq ft. There are other one bedrooms that are around 1200 or even more sq ft...along with 2 and 3 bedrooms as well. The area is very convenient. The Dixie Mall and No Frills are just a short walk away where you can catch Mississauga transit. The QEW/Gardiner/427 are very close, and you have the option of taking the Dixie or Long Branch GO trains or buses. You can also catch TTC at Long branch station which is about a 20 minute walk, or just a few short minutes by car. The building offers amazing amenities, and there are activities for everyone. The salt water pool is beautiful in the warm summer months. After going for a swim I honestly feel like I'm on vacation while I'm laying down and catching some sun. There's a tennis and badminton court, and three shuffle board courts. There are many tables with umbrellas and chairs around the property, along with two large BBQs and a gazebo. The 6 acres are beautifully landscaped and are always great to photograph for the enthusiast. Inside the building, there's a full sized snooker/billiard table, darts, ping pong, puzzle room, massive workshop (band saw, table saw, sanders, lathe, drill press, and much more), community areas, and so much more. There are personal lockers for detergents in the laundry rooms (each building has its own), along with sitting areas with a TV and magazines, and it's just 50 cents per wash, and 25 cents per half hour for drying. There's a manual car wash which is operational during three of the four seasons for only $1 per 3 minutes. Water, heat, hydro and cable television are all included in the condo fees. There's 24 hour security at the gate house, and a concierge in the main lobby during business hours. The McMaster house can be rented out for private functions for a very reasonable price, and includes a full kitchen with all the dishes and cutlery you'll need. There are various paid things that you can do too, including the hair salon, yoga, and events with live music. There are often social events like wine and cheese which come at no extra cost. I can go on, but there's just far too much to say. The only down side to this building is that there are no dogs allowed, so if I ever want to get a dog I'll have to move :(.

I moved out on August 22, 2025, but my deposit refund has still not been returned. Despite multiple…read moreemails and complete documentation, nothing was processed. I even received written confirmation from staff (Ivy Bhattacharjee) that the refund cheque would be ready, and I have audio proof confirming the inspection was completed. Yet, they ignored me for weeks. On top of this, they only gave us one key at move-in and told us to make a copy ourselves. Later, at move-out, they falsely claimed they had originally given us two keys, accused us of losing one, and forced us to pay extra. Unless you have signed paperwork and recordings, they will deny everything. In just the past month, I've seen dozens of other tenants reporting the same scam: refunds withheld, false claims, and unfair charges. This is clearly systematic misconduct, not a mistake. Future tenants: Please avoid this company. They withhold deposits, create false charges, and ignore tenants until legal action is threatened.

I called the accommod8u to have the door unlocked and put in a request for a call back to get a new key issued (the company's decision for a call back for a new key). Since I didn't have a key, I had to leave the door unlocked when I left the apartment. I never received a call back about the new key. When I returned on Friday, June 20, I found that the door was locked which seemed impossible as I don't have a key and had to leave it unlocked. It wasn't until Monday, June 23 that I found out that accommod8u had changed the locks without notifying any of the tenants or providing new keys. They claim I requested the locks be changed, which is completely false, I only requested a new key for the existing lock. And I understand it is for safety reasons for a new lock, but no notice to changing the locks OR how to get new keys for ANY tenant is unprofessional. Now I'm being charged $75 for the service call (to have someone open the door for me), $350+ for the new locks and keys, and additional service fees, despite the fact that I was only locked out because the locks were changed without warning. This was an incredibly frustrating and costly experience caused by miscommunication and a lack of basic notice, and I'm sharing it to help future tenants understand to never rent with accommod8u.
