I have never been to an urgent treatment center before and was pleased with the good service at this location off dove run road. I had been struggling with a congested head that was not getting better until I knew I needed antibiotics. The check-in process was quick and I was seen shortly after registering and paying my co-pay. I was happy with visit and they called my prescriptions into my pharmacy and I started my antibiotics that very evening. read more

Edit: They called me first thing this morning which I find to be a great quality in any doctors' office. I explained that a couple RX's were left out and they fixed the mistake. My dr was Dr. Payne and he was very kind with good bedside manner. We did go right before close so that could be the reason for the delay in RX's. My prescriptions weren't at the pharmacy. Other than that I suppose everything was okay, but if you tell a patient you're going to prescribe something you should follow through and if there's an issue have the decency to call and explain. Dr.Payne (pain) advised an 80 yr old to seek further Treatment for a broken hand at a place that was closed on Saturday. She was given no physical address, he told her it was behind St Joe East... No contact number.... I looked online and Bluegrass Orthopedic web page specifically notes the location is closed on Saturday. Yet When I called UTC Dove run location for over 20 yrs, I'm told they'll be open. Still no address or business hours were mentioned. We arrive Saturday morning @ 8 Possible to early I admit, only to find the office at 3480 Yorkshire/ closed. So I call UTC Dove Run and was told they open at 10am Saturday mornings. After Breakfast at Bob Evans. We tried again. NO LUCK @ 10:05 am I notified the UTC dove run receptionist of the situation, she passed the buck to another employee who said they may be closed for the holidays. Thanksgiving was 2 days ago..! How can a 20+ year medical treatment facility be so incompetent. This couldn't the first time they've advised an elderly patient for further treatment. I went to Concentra with flu like symptoms. Waited over an hour to be seen which is to be expected. Nurse was great. Confirmed drug allergy, pharmacy preferred. Flu and strep tests were done. Then the doctor came in. Both tests negative but sometimes that happens with flu test. Listened to chest and said lungs sounded good. Looked in throat and ears. Prescribed tamiflu and cough syrup. I confirmed pharmacy was 24 hrs because my regular pharmacy on file was closing soon. I left and drive straight to 24 hr pharmacy. No prescriptions. I called Concentra but they had closed. Their phone service said they would message doctor. Never heard a peep so I decided to treat symptoms and ride it out. 12+ hours later, I received a text from regular pharmacy that they had prescriptions ready for me. It was beyond the 48 hours of onset symptoms so Tamiflu wouldn't be beneficial. I looked on pharmacy app to see what cough syrup was prescribed. THE DOCTOR PRESCRIBED THE ONLY MEDICATION THAT I AM ALLERGIC TO! I was furious at the incompetence. To make a long enough story shorter, I have asthma. Chest felt right and heavy all day. After shower, I had 3 asthma attacks and ended up in the ER. DIAGNOSIS PNEUMONIA. A breathing treatment and an IV antibiotics and I feel so much better already. Incompetent doctor, longer wait than ER. Ridiculous. Won't be back ever. read more

I have not had the best time with doctors when sick but at Concentra Urgent Care Dove Run Rd. Lexington, they treated me like a person who mattered. The doctor didn't just send me on my way because I tested negative for strep. She listened to me and examined my throat showing I did have strep. She gave me a prescription for antibiotics and within 6 hours because I caught it early, the pain in my throat eased up. I was able to go back to work the next day instead of slug it out for 2 weeks because of pain. Thank you!!! I cannot say how much I appreciate you. read more

Go here if you need a doctors excuse. Not if you actually need help. They are ALWAYS under staffed. I went and they gave me strep test, said it was negative, and still gave me medicine for strep. I asked if I actually needed it and she was like "eh. I won't hurt"... I'm pretty sure killing all of my gut flora for no reason will most certainly hurt me. I asked what it was and she wasn't sure. Dr. Basha at the Dove Run UTC is amazing. The morning I went, they were short-staffed and he was the only physician. He was amazingly patient, unruffled by the overfilled waiting room, and didn't rush through asking questions and taking sufficient time to take care of me. I'd consider making him my family's primary doctor, but I never got around to asking him whether or not he had a private practice. The nurses all seem like they've been doing this thing for years, have a good sense of humor and try to get you in and out as quickly as possible. The ladies at the front are also no-nonsense, but don't take that as them being cold or unfriendly. If you're nice to them, they're all smiles. I hope none of you are sick enough to need an urgent care clinic, but if you do, and it's not a hospital-type emergency, these guys are a great option. read more

Where to begin... The receptionist was very nice, helpful and my wait time was about 40 minutes. Vicki, a radiology tech called me back and was pleasant initially. Vicki escorted me to the back where I would complete my UDS. Shortly after the UDS, Vicki escorted me out to the hall to complete a vision test. I informed Vicki that I had undergone bilateral cataract surgery and each ocular lens is a different strength. Vicki said "that doesn't make any sense to me". Vicki then escorted me to an exam room to obtain my vitals. I explained to Vicki that she needs to use my rt arm for my blood pressure. Vicki said "Our policy is to use the left arm, why do I need to use the right arm?" I informed Vicki I have left subclavian stenosis however the look on her face told me she had no understanding of what I said. Vicki then applied the blood pressure cuff to my right arm and began to inflate. However Vicki had applied it incorrectly, so I fixed it for her. Vicki than stated "this is why we don't use the right arm", insinuating that I am to blame. Vicki then decided to administer a "color blind test" where she pointed at; the sharps box, the thermometer case, a sticker on the wall and asked what color each were. I'm sure this test is not legit and not the standard of care. Vicki was able to place the portable pulse ox on my finger and obtained an accurate pulse as well as an oxygen saturation. Vicki then exited the room and a short while later a PA entered the room. The PA had my past medical history and my medication list in her hands. However she asked me what a MAVR is. I laughed and explained to her " Mechanical aortic valve replacement". The PA also enquired on my cataract surgery and could not understand why I have different strength ocular lens. I began to be concerned of her competence. The approach the PA used to complete a head to toe assessment had me very nervous as she had me lye down on the table as she pulled my T-shirt up. There was no need to expose me, her stethoscope is adequate enough to auscultate over my t-shirt. The PA then began the standard pre-employee physical where she had me perform a skip to my lou, the roger rabbit, the running man and the hokey pokey. She finished up by telling me "I'm not comfortable signing off your physical until your cardiologist provides me with cardiac clearance." this is related to my history of open heart surgery. I began to laugh and explained that this is a chronic condition, not acute. I reassured her that I have had annual physicals and a physician has never required such clearance. This PA should not be practicing solo, she obviously has no critical thinking skills. When the PA exited the room, Vicki returned to collect blood samples and administer a PPD. Vicki told me I had to lye back on the table in order for her to obtain the lab work. I explained to her that I didn't want to lay back. Vicki said "This is our policy" and I didn't have a choice. I began laughing at this incompetence and Vicki said "you can go somewhere else if you want". Once again unprofessional. Lastly Vicki was adamant she place the PPD to my left forearm although she could not access my left arm. I told her to administer it in my right forearm and she said "I just took blood out of your right arm". I'm certain there is no evidence supporting PPD cannot be placed on a limb that has been used for phlebotomy. I would not recommend this location for any healthcare and I will be reporting the incompetent PA and radiology tech to my employer so they will not send business here. I was pleasantly surprised by this walk-in doctors office. I'm used to a ummm....less than optimum standard of care from walk-in clinics but this place proved to be an exception. My job requires me to know a good bit about medicine which makes me a terrible patient if the doctor isn't up to my standards So the poor nurses here had to deal with my insisting on a culture even though they (and I) knew I really needed to be on antibiotics. I was really impressed that the doctor was actually hands on. Really friendly people and they accepted my *very* out of state insurance without blinking an eye. They took me as a walk-in and the wait was very very short. Extra bonus that they are open til 7:30pm and everyday but Christmas. They don't get more stars on principle cause I am an alternative medicine whore...but I will probably be back for emergency situations like this :) read more

Didn't go there for urgent care, my boyfriend was sent there for a job physical and urine test. Arrived at 12:56 pm and finally got out at 3:30pm, front desk wasn't helpful, the collector was really rude , had my boyfriend drink 4 cups of water and told him to tell front desk when he was ready, that's when the collector went to lunch!!! It was really a bad experience, couldn't do anything about it since the job sent him there!!!! Wouldn't recommend, not even for a paper cut!!! read more

If I ever again need someone in Lexington to squirt hydrogen peroxide through my ear canal, I will again choose UTC. I admit, having gotten used to my normal doctor's online booking system, I was a little peeved at having to sit in the waiting room for two hours. The fact that I couldn't hear anything, was dizzy, and my phone was low on batteries made it more aggravating. I was also quite skeptical the moment the tech pulled out a medical drape that had somehow gotten a stain on it. (To her credit, she immediately disposed of it.) However, once they started the treatment, they fixed me up quickly and sent me on my way. If you've got something serious or need some kind of specialized care, go to a hospital. But if you need the medical equivalent of an oil change or tire alignment, UTC has got you covered. read more

Worst experience ever! My candidate needed to get a Mask-Fit test done. They asked her if she had her own N95 and she told them she didn't have one but is there one they could let her use. They said no at first, made her wait, then magically appeared with one in her exact size that she asked for and said it was their last one. Okay, possible coinsidence, not that big of a deal. But after they gave it to her they were talking about how rude she was within earshot, and put her in a room to wait over an hour. I don't care if you think a patients being rude or mean, yes, I'm sure it happens but it is never okay to speak ill of someone especially when you know they are close enough for them to hear you. I wish we would have read the other reviews before we arrived. We had plenty of time to read them while waiting 1.5 hours in the lobby. We did call before we went and inquired about the wait-30 minutes we were told. When we arrived the sign said 30 minutes wait time. I wouldn't have minded the 1.5 hours if we had been told and prepared before coming. We requested an ice pack for the injury and the front desk staff returned several minutes later and said they were out of ice packs and ice. The lobby is small, and we went for an injury not an illness-felt like it was a cootie breeding ground. The bathroom trash was overflowing. Went to concentra to get my medical records for my new doctor, they would not release them to me and said that they belonged to my employer. What world does three people live in that my personal medical records belong to my employer? No office manager was on duty, I had to call another concentra and speak to them and have them call the nicholasviile office to explain it to them, RIDICULOUS The main office is going to hear about this and I would stay away from the incompetent people that work in this office. read more

Once you get in, the care is good usually. The sign about how long before you'll be seen is a complete lie: 30 minutes is usually at least an hour or more. Went here to get quick treatment/confirmation of having the flu. The doctor saw me and my children and prescribed anti-biotics and didn't even swab any us for the flu. I spent $100 for this misdiagnosis. The very next day we got into our regular pediatrician whom swabbed my children and tested positive for Flu A. This is my first review on Yelp and although I usually try to live by the rule "If you don't have anything nice to say, than don't say anything at all," I feel I must express my extreme disappointment in this place. After quite a long and uncomfortable waiting time, I was seen for a quick 5-10 minute visit by the doctor on duty. She gave me a shot of Toradol for a migraine and I was sent on my way. When I received my bill, I thought there must have been a mistake as it was over $400.00! I called to dispute, fully believing they would make an adjustment, but instead was told there was nothing that could be done and that the price I was charged, is what I must pay. I let them know that I would be writing a negative review if they refused to adjust my bill, but they didn't seem to mind that at all. Can't comment on the level of care at this particular location, since I was unable to receive any. I headed over there yesterday, after verifying on their website that they would be open (since it was labor day). The website said open 364 days a year, closed on Christmas. Guess Christmas came early this year. Got there at around 4 p.m. (hours are supposed to be until 7:30 p.m.). There was someone seated behind the counter at the location, but the front door was locked, and when I knocked, she motioned that they were closed. After driving to their Custer Rd location, I found it locked up tight as well. I would think it would be extra important for an urgent treatment center to be open on holidays, since you can't get in to see a regular doctor (especially since their own information said they WOULD be open), but evidently they don't agree. read more
