Most were typical, white plastic with windows cut out and draping material offered. I definitely knew that was not what we were looking for. As I began to search more and google was offering things like Yurts or giant plastic overthrow sheets...we came across Katalane! I was SO excited when we found them; they were exactly what we were looking for. Something fresh, unique and striking. We knew it would make the perfect addition to our wedding. Katalane was very helpful from the very first email enquiry I sent. David got back to me very quickly with suggestions, prices, seating charts and more. As the day got closer he offered advice on decoration, arranged seating and was willing to answer any little questions I asked. David was extremely helpful, competent and understanding, making the lead up to our wedding day a lot less stressful. The company even made furniture just in time for our wedding, as we were unable to find this beautiful wooden furniture anywhere else. The day before the wedding, David and his team arrived to set up our wedding tipi. It was really exciting to see it all come together and it looked absolutely beautiful in the bush and suited our wedding theme and decorations perfectly. David went above and beyond, also letting us borrow some fairy lights, which looked beautiful around the edge of the tipi. On our wedding day, our guests and we absolutely loved the tipi. People couldn't believe it and kept asking where we had hired it. It really made our day special. For the reception, the tipi had a cozy, comfortable and warm atmosphere, which really added to the vibe of the evening. The wooden furniture was perfect and guests loved sitting on the bench seats in the marquee. It was a magical day in a magical venue. I couldn't recommend Katalane highly enough. They were fantastic and the Tipi-style marquee was amazing. 10 out of 10

Sugar OVERLOAD. Thank goodness for the doggy bags to take away some of the goodness from the candy buffet that Doltone house helped the bride and groom organise. VENUE Tables were beautifully decorated and in a strange oval shape which seemed to save room. It didn't feel squishy though. Pretty sizable venue as there were 30 tables but they could have easily fit in more. Few technical difficulties with the projector screen which momentarily ruined one of the photo montages but it got fixed and replayed. The staff were very professional and did a good job at looking after the 300+ guests. OVERALL Great location where wonderful memories are sure to be made. It took us a while before we finally narrowed it down to Cake Atelier. The main reasons we picked Cake Atelier were because there was no charge for a tasting session and more importantly, she was willing to work with our budget. We visited Cake Atelier a few months before our wedding for a consultation. We merely gave her a few pointers on how we envisioned our wedding cake and Naco was able to draw a sketch on how it would look like. (probably through her years of work experience and expertise in cakes!). She was very helpful in providing guidance and suggestions. The tasting was probably the fun part of the consultation ! There were so many different flavours and oh man, all of them were good! Our favourites were probably lemon, green tea and red velvet....We ended up choosing the lemon flavour. The end product was EVERYTHING I hoped for. More importantly, it tasted so good! The cake sponge was light and fluffy, the lemon flavour really helped to cut through the richness of our first two courses. I cannot thank Naco enough for making such a special cake of my big day. I would highly recommend Cake Atelier to make you a cake for your special occasion! :)

We really enjoyed the squid ink prawn tortellini entree. Looks can be deceiving, that little thing is like a mini dynamite of flavours exploding in your mouth. The prawn crust salmon was one of our fav too. The sauce was very well balanced and complimented the salmon well. The dessert choices were the hardest - how do you pick when everything sound so enticing?! So we tried five desserts, because it's better to be safe than sorry. All in all, we were really impressed with the level of service and friendliness of the staff who works here. It's not often you see hospitality staff who genuinely enjoy the interaction with customers and love their job. The only little thing that I'd like the venue to improve is its wine list. The house wine selection was pretty atrocious and didn't go well with the food. A minor blemish to the experience but a great night nevertheless.

Kookaburras making love!…read more Is what I saw both times I attended a wedding at this virgin pure venue. Tucked down in a pocket of secluded bush between Bradley's Head and Taronga Zoo, this is a find indeed, a vintage gem of a place where the wedding is held out on a gently sloping grass lawn flanked by paternal gumtrees and the Harbour Bridge lit up by the sunset across the water in the background. Athol Hall used to be a dance hall. Back in the '50s sensible partygoers (they were the only kind that existed back then) would jump in a boat and be ferried across to the Hall, where the women would expose their ankles and the men would swoon and they'd all do a sock hop or a jive or something until the wee hours and then the boat would take them away again. I imagine it wouldn't come cheap, but can you really put a price on taking your vows while benevolent kookaburras make glorious coitus in the boughs above?
