Dr. Abrams practices out of UPP Family Medicine on Wilkins Avenue in Sq Hill…read more Assigning a practice a number of stars is one thing but you should know that I trust Dr Abrams enough to have recommended him to SEVERAL of my own friends. In fact, he just delivered my friends baby boy this past summer! I like UPP Family Medicine bc it is a one stop shop for me in terms of medical care. There are four dr's at this practice, and while they do general family medicine they also do ob/gyn care and Dr. Xiao is my gynecologist and she is FANTASTIC. She's got the best bed side manner, my visits with her never feel rushed and she takes time to answer my questions, and (look away boys) she is a fantastic gyno and her exams are FAST AS HELL. Everyone hates their yearly exam. Dr. Xiao is like a ninja. By the time you start thinking about how much the exam sucks, it is over! Dr Xiao is also the first physician I've ever had to call me just to see how I was feeling and ask if I had any questions about or problems with a new medication I'd recently started to take. If you know anyone who is looking for a new physician, I cannot more highly recommend UPP Family Medicine. This practice is not just 5 stars good, its good enough that I recommended it to my own family members and friends. It's easy to get an appointment, the location is convenient, the staff is friendly, your appointments will not feel rushed and you will receive proper, thorough medical care. (also all the magazines in the office are new, nothing is worse than having to read through a two year old copy of Family Circle)

He put me on a 12-week care plan, which I followed completely -- and I'm so glad I did! Since beginning treatment, my back pain has become much more manageable, and I now only need to see Dr. Corey on an as-needed basis. What I appreciate most about Dr. Corey is that he's not pushy. He genuinely cares about his patients and their well-being, but he never pressures you into unnecessary appointments. Instead, he empowers you to listen to your body and decide what level of care you need. The entire staff at Hometown Sport and Spine is also wonderful -- always warm, welcoming, and professional. I've noticed a huge improvement in my day-to-day comfort and overall health since starting chiropractic care here. I highly recommend Dr. Corey to anyone seeking effective, compassionate chiropractic care!

This doctor's visit was a nightmare. I found him through an online search for general practitioners…read morein order to have my thyroid checked as a precautionary measure because I'd gained 10 pounds and even with diet and exercise I couldn't seem to lose it. I based my decision for choosing him on the good reviews I read on here - bad idea. First of all, when I got to the office I was surprised to see that it was an extremely run-down building that looked as though it hadn't had any work done on it since the 1970s. I had to wait in the waiting room for an hour because the doctor was out on a call. During the doctor appointment the doctor was nice enough. I was given a blood test for my thyroid. One thing I thought was weird that the doctor himself took the blood. He didn't send me to a lab or anything so I don't know who it was that actually tested it. Before I left I asked if he would call me with the results and he said "No, no, you call me in a week - we will have the results then." (A whole week! And I've never had to call a doctor's office back to get my results). Well when I called they didn't even have my results ready. So I asked them to call me when they did. The secretary (not a nurse or the doctor, the secretary) called me the next day and told me all my blood results looked good. But then 3 hours later they called me back and said, "Oh the doctor did want us to let you know that your cholesterol was 304. He's going to prescribe you some Lipitor and send you a diet book. Have a good day." First of all, I'm a generally healthy 22 year old. I have a very hard time believing my cholesterol was 304. Later I realized THEY HAD NOT TOLD ME TO FAST BEFORE MY BLOOD TEST which was probably the reason the numbers were so high. Later I went to a different doctor and had my blood retested after fasting and my cholesterol levels were completely normal. Secondly, I found it really strange that even if the cholesterol levels had been that high, that he would prescribe Lipitor right away to a 22 year old without trying diet and exercise first. They didn't even consult with me about the side effects of the drug or how to use it properly. So overall - worst doctor experience ever. I would definitely recommend going somewhere else.

I believe that several physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants work here. Since 2021, I have been a patient of this office. For my annual gynecological examinations, I usually make appointments with the physician Dr. Natalie Brzoza. She and her medical assistants start the appointments on time. She performs thorough physical exams, and she speaks politely with me. She has promptly placed orders for PAP smears and mammograms, and she has never pressured me about my healthcare decisions. Please note that I have NOT used this office for contraception or pregnancies, so I cannot comment on those topics.

******* Sewickley Hospital ****** I have visited this…read morehospital for SEVERAL tests, procedures and two emergancies. The hospital is great but me nor my husband are great fans of their ER. They are nice but not really efficient. I had to visit for a bad migraine. They had to put in an IV to give me fluids. This male nurse came in to give me pain medicine through my IV but failed to warn me that it would be painful. Lets just say I came off the table and ended up in the floor. I was so mad. The nurse then said, "oh yeah, it could sting a little." My thoughts were "REALLY WTF!!!!." lol My husband had to visit the ER for kidney stones recently. They just asked him his symptoms, gave him meds and told him to follow up with his doctor. $100 for that. If you need tests run or bloodwork this facility is great. Apparently Wednesdays is BACON day. HAHA I know this because when my husband was having a procedure done the nurses were all excited that it was Wednesday and they get BACON. lol So a recap: if your loved one needs to have a procedure done schedule it for Wednesday. Although I visited their cafeteria and I didn't think their bacon was good at all. I did enjoy plugging in my laptop and hanging out in the seated area of the cafeteria. It was nice and I got to hear all the chit chatter of negativity from the female nurses. I just tuned them out and surfed away on the wonderful world wide net. ;)

The office is easy to find on Smithfield street, extremely convenient for those who work/live downtown, and the facilities while not super modern they indeed are clean and in good condition. The staff is friendly, although a little "young" as far as the assistants so sometimes it feels they're less thoughtful and mindful than what you'd expect for a medical office. Granted it is neat to see the trainees learning on the job since these will be the medical providers who'll be taking care of us down the road. Dr. Essig is a quirky gentleman. He's succinct and to the point but at the same time he takes his time to analyze all you have to say or point out. A lot of times with DR's I have felt they just rush through the appointment ... so far Dr. Essig has been good about how long he takes to do an appointment. Sometimes they are shorter than I thought they'd be and sometimes he really took his time ... in hindsight he's been spot on. Good location. Good staff. And good experiences so far make it so that I'll definitely be returning in the future if I need to see a PCP.
