Power Bowl

Con Huevos is one of the more famous breakfast spots in the city with multiple locations and great, friendly vibes. The menu had many different selections and good vegetarian options. The flavors are strong and ingredients are fresh. Service was prompt as well. My only gripe is that it was very expensive for breakfast. OJ, coffee, and two savory breakfasts came out to $44 before tip. We look forward to coming back to try the sweet options.

The food was really good and unique! I will say the gravy and biscuit could use a little work. But overall everything the others got was basically perfect so I'll still give it 5/5! The service was good and didn't feel rushed. We were visiting from out of town so it was nice to not feel that underlying pressure of table turning during brunch/breakfast time. I tried some of basically everybody's food. It was all really good. Limited parking in front but pretty sure there is a large lot in the back. Super cute restaurant good lighting in the bathroom to take pictures. It's not super big you can see the whole place from one door to the other. Overall would go back.

Crispy Churros

We came for the churros and glad we did! Stopped in to sit at the counter for a coffee and churros. Staff was really warm and attentive. Such a fun place to eat with great music! Had the Cafe Con Leche, Cubano and churros! Cafe con leche was perfect. The Cubano was sweet. Churros were good, and had a cajeta sauce and a chocolate sauce you could dip them in which were great! We saw the food coming out and the pancakes look amazing! Definitely need to grab breakfast here next time!

Chorizo Benedict

One of my must-dos when hosting guests. Everyone always loves it and this location is the biggest and best. Don't let the name scare into thinking the food is too spicy, its just excellent Lating style brunch. Huevos rancheros and anything with chorizo will not disappoint. The cafe con leche is a spectacle as they pour the milk/coffee at your table from a great height. It can get busy on the weekends so plan accordingly.

Pancake Tacos
Arps L.

Con Huevos is one of my favorite brunch places in Louisville. The chilaquiles are my usual order and are delicious. The mimosas are fresh! Tres leches pancakes are also delicious, though classify more as dessert Went this time around to try pancake tacos which are a new addition to the menu. Messy, but a fun experience. At this location (Northfield), they take your order at the table (unlike Frankfort location) There is ample seating inside and some seating outside.

The first couple of times I dined at Con Huevos, I was highly impressed and bubbling over with good things to say. That was in the beginning, but now it's beginning to feel like that feeling you get when you're head over heels about a new love interest, only for them to flip the script after a while and start treating you like they couldn't care less, despite the fact that you've been doing your part and have done nothing to deserve their disregard. You give at least as much as you receive (you pay, and you tip commensurately, if not more). Yes, they're still bringing good looks to the "table" (the food is still good) but the attitude? The service? That part is somewhere en route to MSD, if not already there. That's my subjective experience. Now, for the facts to support it. Two visits ago (close to two months ago), I walked in, famished, and sat at the bar. I ordered a beverage and then a power bowl. Twenty minutes later, I was still waiting. Then, a super sweet gentleman sits down next to me, orders food, and shortly after, his food arrives--a power bowl, brought by someone from the kitchen. He starts eating, and I immediately notice a server looking panicked, whispering to another employee that the kitchen gave the food to the wrong person. The gentleman realized what had happened and was visibly plagued by the situation. He announced it, asking if I had ordered the same thing. I acknowledged that yes, I had ordered a power bowl. He said he had noticed there was no chicken in his power bowl, though he had asked for chicken. I hadn't. He started apologizing profusely to me, which made me feel badly for him, because obviously he didn't owe me any apology. He was in no way at fault. He had stopped eating, hands in lap, and said he felt like it would be rude of him to keep eating. He asked how long I had been waiting. This poor, caring gentleman's meal had been ruined because of someone who apparently wasn't focused enough on doing their job right. Or maybe the supervision was off. Whatever the issue was, I was hoping to pretend it never happened, and just get my own food as soon as possible, so that we could both have a pleasant time. My power bowl finally came up, and I discovered that it was one of the best things on the menu. But sadly, the gent seated next to me seemed to have not fully recovered from the unwarranted embarrassment by the time he got up to leave, bidding me a kind farewell. I hope his subsequent visits there have been or will be much better. Too bad my next visit was worse. Once again, I entered the restaurant, was pleasantly greeted by a nice hostess, and took a seat at the bar. A server took my drink order. One horchata latte, please. I then placed my journal on the bar and went to wash my hands. I returned, glad that my beverage hadn't been placed there in my absence. Quite some time passed before 'a' coffee beverage was brought to me. It wasn't the one I had ordered, and in retrospect, I should have said so (maybe someone else had been waiting for the drink). I let it sit there until I could order food, but I sat for too long before the server returned and asked if I was ready to order. She did acknowledge that I was served the wrong beverage, and then brought the correct one. The first (incorrect) coffee arrived at 10:10. Server arrived at 10:27 to take my food order. Food arrived at 10:43. It didn't take me long to eat half of the meal, and I was hoping to put the rest in a box to carry out. But I and the unfinished food just sat there. And sat there. And sat there. By that time, the restaurant had gotten busy but I didn't think it was busy enough to warrant just leaving a customer waiting indefinitely. Finally, the nice hostess was near me, and I asked her how I might get a box. She politely retrieved one nearby and handed it to me. I boxed up the food and waited some more for the check to arrive. Thank goodness I wasn't in a big hurry, because it was noon by the time I was able to pay and leave. A male employee just happened to acknowledge me, and so I asked him if I could get the check. He politely presented me the point of sale device, and I finally paid. Normally, I tip at least 22%. This time? 6% for about 3% effort. I hope 100% of the tip went to him, because he actually went above and beyond by acknowledging me when he wasn't even my server. I'm not really feeling the overall ambiance here lately. At least not at the Hwy 42 location. I don't know what has gone wrong there lately. But the three stars I'm giving really should be about two and a half. Lacklustre service is one reason why it's important to have options and market competition. I'm starting to think about the other fish in the sea.

Huevos Rancheros- silky and delicious!

Con Huevos is my favorite breakfast place. I have written an in-depth review before. They have the best pancakes in town whether Tres Leches or in their Trifecta. They also have the best clean authentic Mexican breakfast Items like Enchiladas con Huevos and Chilaquiles con Huevos which are my favorites. However, today I want to write about a seasonal item that needs to make it to the regular menu, the Carnitas Hash. This delicious dish is put together with a bed of Home fries, scrumptious homemade pork carnitas, with salsa verde, and sour cream. Nestled in this goodness are 2 sunny side up eggs and topped with green onions. This dish is what Mariachis sing "Estas son las mañanitas" for. Please hurry to try this dish. If Don Jesus is reading, please, add it to the regular menu!!!

Omelette with Verde sauce

I was disappointed in how well done my poached eggs were, but food was tasty. They have no fountain drinks, so I ordered an iced tea. Unfortunately it was mango, which I do not like, so I settled on water. Extra ice in my glass would've been appreciated as I'm not a fan of tepid water. Service was good.

Simple choice for brunch with a group of family or friends. I'm sure even the pickiest eaters can find something they enjoy here. Things you should know: I. PARKING Con Huevos is within a plaza and shares a free parking lot with the adjacent businesses II. SERVICE Timely III. QUALITY Flavorful. My fiance was blown away by the Tres Leches Pancakes ~ highly recommend. IV. CAPACITY Busy during brunch hours on a weekend, but there was no wait and there were a few tables available.

I've wanted to try this restaurant since they originally opened, and last weekend I finally got my chance. We first attempted the Frankfort Avenue location, but the line was out the door so we ended up driving to the Brownsboro Road site. There was plenty of parking in front and in the rear of the restaurant. I'm not sure how it works at Frankfort, but at this location you put your name in for a table and then order at the counter. Despite arriving at 12:30 on a Sunday, we had a 10 minute wait. We took that time to drool over the menu. Two in our party ordered the Huevos Rancheros, which is corn tortillas, salsa, refried black beans, avocado, queso fresco and eggs. They made it to the clean plate club! I ordered the Omni-Vore sandwich with brioche bread, bacon, medium egg, cheese, jalapeño aioli and home fries. Our food came out incredibly fast, maybe 7 minutes after we ordered it. Everything looked and smelled delicious and it was. My only complaint with the sandwich was the bread wasn't everything that I had hoped for, but it was filling and satisfying. The home fries were crispy and complimented the meal nicely. I'm looking forward to going back and trying something new!! I forgot to take photos of the food, since I was starving.

Omelette De Papa

Me friend and I stopped in for a late breakfast on Friday. I suggest looking at the menu before you arrive, as there are so many choices!!! There is something for everyone!!! You want sweets??? They have pancakes, French toast, waffles. Eggs? Poached, omelettes, fried. Meaty? Chicken, beef, sausage. All with a Mexican twist. You place your order at the counter, and they will bring your food out to your table. We had a burrito bowl, and an omelette. So yummy!!!! Everything was seasoned just so. I recommend you try the cafe con leche. So creamy and satisfying!!! I would love to return and try more of the Mexican inspired breakfast dishes!!!

Cafe con leche

Theo is a brunch/American/Mexican place. You order at the counter by the door and pay there at the same time. We started with cafe con leche. A big glass of coffee and topped off with hot milk. For lunch we both had chipolte poached huevos. Eggs poached on a 'pie crust like bun', topped with a delicious sauce avocado and chorizo. It was delicious but on the salty side. It also came with a fruit cup, a nice touch but not all the fruit was ripe.
