Support your local - and not-so-local bookstore!…read more Visited Rome last week and while enjoying Campo de Fiori and Taba Cafe saw this place. I just started learning Italian half a year ago so thought I'd drop in and see if I could find a modern Italian novel that doesn't have post-modern Italian, but something I could reliably derive grammar and vocab from. So I tried my best to get that across to the bearded gentleman who I suspect is the proprietor. What a great guy. His English may not be perfect, but it's far better than my Italian! We went from that brief exchange to some chatting about Italian cinema and Monica Vitti. He pointed out the cool vintage movie posters decorating this place. May seem like a little thing, but experiences like this just made me love visiting Rome all the more. Grazie mille!

It was the books that drew us in, but decided to stay and grab a bite to eat. I had a chicken sandwich and my fiance has a caesar salad. Both dishes were delicious! They were very flavorful and the most American meal we had while in Rome. My sandwich also came with fries which were perfect. They had an extensive wine list and many patrons were just having a glass of wine and sharing small appetizers. The ambiance was quaint, and would recommend this spot.

Ahhh, but this is part of its charm. The place has a quiet and cozy atmosphere. There are books and reading material aplenty. They have fresh (real) orange juice (albeit it was a bit pricey at 4 euros for a small glass). They have a wide array of prepared breakfast items ranging from yogurt with granola, to sandwiches, to postres. Be on the look out for it's big red sign and stop in for a peaceful way to start your day!
