My first visit Dr Pilgrim assessed my situation, prescribed me some antibiotics, told me to take Tylenol for the pain and educated me on a few other things regarding why he suggested Tylenol and the staff was equally as welcoming as Dr. Pilgrim. I later went back for the extraction procedure and I must admit that I was quite timid, as a matter of fact, I was shaking in my boots but everyone made me feel really comfortable. The procedure was quick, painless, and went well. Listen I'm afraid of the dentist but dental care is very important for me so when seeking dental care, I'm looking for the most caring, knowledgeable, & experienced dentist that I can find and I found him at Christian Dental Care at 3611 Branch Ave in Temple Hills MD. The office was also scented with a subtle hint of calming aromatherapy. I Loved it! The staff are pleasant, and professional. The technology used was the most modern I'd ever seen; considering my former Dentist had been practicing the last 48 years, with office furniture that fit nicely on the set of the Brady Bunch, not to mention the Norman Rockwell paintings, but I digress. *This is not a criticism, simply an observation. Every exam room at Healthy Dental has it's own flat-screen TV (a sweet distraction!) At the time of this review, there are two Dr.s running this office: Dr. Aftab & Dr. Assetta. Once you get past their collective youthful appearances, and realize they are in fact the Dr.'s and not interns; your experience will only get BETTER from there. They both have a very gentle, easy going way of working with patients. They are customer focused, knowledgeable and engaging. These were just a few of the attributes I wanted someone who is skilled at using power tools in my mouth to have! Yesterday, this office called me to remind me of an upcoming appointment & I spoke with a woman who clearly stated teeth cleaning was covered. Today I arrived and was told I would have to pay out of pocket costs...no problem, except that I specifically asked yesterday what the cost would be and the receptionist stated I was eligible for free a free cleaning. This morning, I walk in for my appointment and was told I would have to pay $200+ ! WHAT THE HELL?! I asked for this information yesterday and this wasn't mentioned. To make matters worse, this office was crowded with people in the lobby (6+) early in the morning during a pandemic! This just can't be a safe practice. The receptionist was rather rude during this process and when I asked about the free cleaning I was told I was eligible for, she didn't even acknowledge this. Now I must find another office to perform the services needed. This place needs a staff training to ensure receptionist relay the correct information at all times, and perhaps replace the receptionist there with someone with more experience, knowledge of the systems in place, and someone who can respectfully communicate issues. I won't be back, and this isn't the last of my reviews. I will be sure to inform others to consider other places to perform HONEST work who respectfully communicate the truth about the services that are eligible and the care they will be expecting to receive.
