If you're from around the area, you might have noticed a familiar barista at a few independent…read morecoffee shops. His name is Taki Tanaka, and he's a master at crafting any coffee you might desire. He can be currently found at the very unique space combining dance and drinking coffee, Garage Dance Studio & Coffee Lounge. While the dance studio and the coffee lounge share the same space, they don't share the same hours of operation. I was here a few months ago, to find the coffee portion in the dark and the dance floor in full bloom! I came again yesterday afternoon, to find the opposite. This time the coffee lounge was open, and no one was on the dance floor. The inside is set to look like you're in somewhere in Madrid amongst the colorful buildings, where the tables are all adorned with red tablecloths. Of course, the barista working was Taki Tanaka. We chatted briefly and he made me the most delightful Honey Fig Latte. It was creamy, foamy, with a beautiful rose art design he hand poured himself. This was mildly sweet, rich in coffee, utterly satisfying with each sip. I just wish there was dance to see.

I decided to order a Chai Latte because I had never tried it before. I don't drink coffee, but the Chai Latte was good. For me, it needed to be a little sweeter, but all in all, it was a Chai Latte. There is also a dance studio located inside the coffee shop. They offer dance lessons, and the inside, from the dance clothes to the others hanging from the window, gives off a Latin vibe.

I am currently a PF black card holder but since I moved to Glocester, RI- the PF location closest…read moreto me is STILL about 15-20 minutes away (Dayville, CT)- so I wanted to try something much closer to my home because a lot of times I'll do quick 20 min workouts but when the gym is 20m each way- I'm unable to do any type of quick workout without factoring in the 30 minutes for travel time. So I was doing some research about this gym & I found that they offer a 7 day free trial. Anytime Fitness was rated in the top 10 gyms in the US so that was good to know. First Impressions: Located in the middle of a strip mall, the location seems arbitrary but it's actually really convenient and some of the best gyms I've been to were located in unorthodox locations. The flooring is carpet- usually gyms tend to use a type of springy flooring or matting- but no problem for me either way! Appearances are deceiving! When you peek inside- it appears much smaller but there is actually an entire room in the back that you can't see- which can be used for literally almost any workout/class with full mirrors and a barre. The cardio fitness machines here at first glance appear dated- but with their own screens they may be newer then they appear! I do cardio consistently at 5 days a week and I typically utilize the stair master, but I occasionally will use the elliptical or the stepper/elliptical & once in a while a treadmill. I would say the majority of them have their own private screens/tvs so you can utilize your preference in terms of watching tv/listening to music/etc. They also have spin/cycle bikes which I rarely see at gyms so I thought that was cool! My only complaint would be the actual stair master appears extremely old and dated (but it works) and there is only one! So all in all I decided not to join this gym just because it's almost double the price of PF & although it would be extremely convenient- bc of the proximity and location- I would like to keep my PF membership out of convenience, and if this was more affordable I would keep both. But for the location & the price it's not worth it IMO! Staff was really helpful, friendly and nice! If you're looking for something more personalized and don't travel as frequently this could be a great fit! I travel often and need to have a gym accessible at all times!
